Today's offering in GF include
Chateau Grand-Pontet 1996 Saint Emilion Gran Cru (in 1.5 ltr bottles)
Chateau Malartic 2007 Grand Cru La Graviere
Chateau Du Teatre 2007 Margeaux
Can't claim to be a connosseur but liking the 1996 Saint Emilion.

Not as good as what our friend Petrus got a few days ago but certainly not bad.

OK, I'm going to make loaaaaads of enemies here (and I know it all depends on taste etc etc), but if it was only me, if BA wanted to simply stick to a choice of various top red Bordeaux and of top white Bourgogne, maybe with the occasional sprinkling of great Cote du Rhone for variety (e.g a couple of white and red Hermitage, a Cote Rotie, and a Condrieu), I would be a very happy chappie!!

On Tuesday there was both the Tattinger's and the Castelnau Rose.
Red wine a rather nice 2006 Pauillac Chateau Batailley and among whites one or two Beaune Premier Cru's!

Kepp it up BA

The 2006 Pauillac Chateau Batailley went very well with the black pudding, sausage, back bacon, toast and scrambled eggs in the Flounge today.

Elevating to the champagne meny after the present glass...

Last week I visited GF T5 and G South on the same same day,
I noticed that that day the wine selection was to 75% identical in both lounges.

The only unusual I saw in GF was a bottle of Macallan Select Oak,
which is no big deal, 1 liter cost £45,99 at Worlddutyfree

Have you tried the Vivino app - you take a picture of a wine bottle label and it shows you reviews and tasting notes - very clever!

As a white wine drinker I can only say that the 2006 Pauillac Chateau Batailley is more than satisfying substitute for lack of any Premier Cru whities in T3.

Both Chateau Lagrange and Chateau Batailley at LGW GF the other day. Wonderful bottles to hesitate between! I must say I'm loving the current Grands Bordeaux strength and as an openly biased fan, very much hope that they will keep it up forever!!!

I took an easyJet flight yesterday and noticed they now offer Heidsieck Brut Monopole Blue Top NV for sale.

A shame BA can't offer something better than a loco.

Noticed on my last two CW flights that there was only an option of two reds and two whites. The reds were CdP and Optima.

When did the selection reduce to two choices

In T5 GF right now, the red Bordeaux are 2006 Batailley and 2006 Larrivet Haut Brion. Champages are the Taittanger Prélude and Rosé, some Castelnau around too. Look forward to trying the Batailley as lunch time approaches... Already had a taste of both Taittangers, both are rather nice IMO.
My first ever visit to GF. Made Gold early November but hadn't been to LHR since. Santé!

Live from the Flounge: Batailley here, but no Larrivet Haut Brion. Many reds, not of much interest. Taittinger Prelude & Rose, Castelnau.

Batailley good for at least two more rounds
