I've had this, bought it in fact and liked it, as well as many other Green Vines on most ends of the cost scale. Nice central European varietal, suits me nicely and is pretty reliable from the Dolomites to Prague.

Same old champagne in the GF today - is must be time for a change surely!

I also just had one of those blue top monopoly things - not great to be honest!

I may need to try the whites for a change today

No French reds at all in GF on Thursday, both at lunchtime and late afternoon. A selection of Ozzie stuff instead. Pretty pathetic for a First Class lounge not to have even a basic Bordeaux.

OT but having enjoyed the lovely "Old and Plus" Romate Pedro Ximenez I wouldn't mind a bottle or two in GF either!

Does anyone happen to know the current Champagne and wine on the LCY-JFK service? Is it just the normal CW offering?

I was lucky enough to be guested into the CCR last week and very much enjoyed the Zacapa xo and the Montrachet was not bad either. I have to say that overall I was very impressed by the selection. I should be in the gf in the next couple of weeks. Can anybody tell me whether the prelude in there is any good?

I am quite a fan of Prelude. I tried it at a full Taittinger tasting and it stood up well to the others (apart from CDC, of course).

Personally, I find the Stolichnaya Elit vastly superior to all three of those, and would much rather have it. The problem is that some mescreants would mix it with orange juice or whatever, which is just about as bad as using Salon for a buck fizz or mix Petrus with coke...

Prelude is good, definitely the best you can get in any 'public' oneworld lounges at LHR (i.e. CCR does not count).

Have a look on the wines too, sometimes there is a hidden gem. Staff put on display whatever they find first in the cellar... @:-)

Thanks haasha that is great advice! I look forward to trying it and yes I always do have a scoot around the wines and there is always at least one or two that are worth drinking amongst some of the less good ones that they sometimes have out. Incidentally how would you say the prelude compares to the milleisime that they used to have in the gf?
