I'm toying with the idea of a TP run ex-EU to west coast US, and would like if poss to incorporate LCY-JFK. My amateurish efforts in ITA aren't yielding any suitable routings.

I would still be in favour of dating our entries because some come and go and some are one hit wonders which needlessly stick around for the rest of the year, but nobody is quite sure when they first appeared in the wiki.

The upside of having some of the older runs on there is that it gives ideas what to search for / play with on matrix (eg westcoast to STT, SJU, SJD, CUN etc) but agree, be good to somehow make it clear which runs are likely to be "live" ones.

I have not bothered to price this up on AA this time, but given that availability exists, you should be able to price it using the following segments:
ARN-LHR
LCY-PHX
PHX-HNL
HNL-PHX
PHX-LCY
LHR-ARN
Using the 50 options/segment option, you will get suggestions for each search segment that gives you the "right" connections. If all else fails, call AA/BA or contact our champ here on the forum...

Just make sure you double check the fare rules - during the last sale, the fare rules initially required a 7 night stay but this was later changed to a Saturday night.
Timingwise, I think it's possible to do this run in 5 days but more realistic is 6 days. You want one night in LON to give ample time to get from LHR to LCY. Then I think timing does require one night somewhere in the US as well before hitting HNL. Then you have one night in HNL before turning back. I have not tried hard to minimize travel time though.

Be careful that all the sectors are in the right class. That search is also finding trips that book into Y(!) between NYC and HNL

Cathay Taipei tier point run
Hi all,
Based off great advice and to ensure I get to gold this year before my membership expires, I just booked with Cathay to do Taipei--HKG--DPS--HKG--Taipei in Business which cost just under 20,000 TWD and should net me 360 tier points...
My issue is thus: I live in HKG so ideally would like to scrap the last leg of that route and stay in HKG rather than flying onwards to Taipei as I only need 300 tier points, not the full 360....
If i don't take the final leg, do I void the tier points i would have earnt on the other three flights already taken?! Any knowledge or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated as I'm new to the tier point run game!

xe.com tells me that 20000 TWD is about £396 at CC rates so that makes your TP run about £1.10/TP which is pretty good. Thanks for posting.

TP run problems with multi-PNRs
Thanks to everyone on the forum for giving me the inspiration to give a TP run a go, BRU-LHR/LCY-SNN-JFK-PHX-HNL-PHX-JFK-LCY-AMS. It 'worked' as in I got the points so I'm happy.
Apart from the pre-trip planning phase where getting ones head around ITA and how to book on aa.com is a necessary part of the learning process, the only operational issue I had was with the duplicate PNRs.
24hrs before departure I noticed 2 PNRs for the same sectors in ba.com, rang to ask what to do, as I seemed unable to check in online for any of them on any of BA, AA or US, all of whom featured in my itinerary. BA said one of the PNRs was a 'dummy' (? or similar), not to worry all will be fine.
I got to Brussels OK. I checked in OK for the Brussels-LHR sector and asked if I could have the boarding passes for the LCY-SNN-JFK sector. 'No', get them at LCY, was the reply.
On arrival at the check in desk at LCY (kiosk wouldn't let me do it), I was told there was nothing in the system. Gulp. Later, after redirection to the ticket desk, they said that they could see I had a ticket but I was showing as a 'no show' from Brussels thus my entire itinerary was deleted and I should speak to aa.com, through whom I'd booked. As it was close to departure and I was a tad fed up, I suggested that they may like to phone aa.com. To cut a long story short, they were getting no sense out of aa.com so 'we'll take you at your word' and put me on BA3.
I don't know if this has happened to anyone else? What should one do next time if both PNRs exist, even if you travel on one, the other deletes everything??
