its not too bad on 737 up to 6 hours, if you can sleep reasonably easily on redeyes you shouldnt have any problems, the new interiors are more cozy

I'm one of those that finds it difficult enough to sleep on BA First!

I do like the new interiors of the AA cabin and I have nodded off on a delayed IAD-LAX evening flight, but I'd find a redeye too much. I get very grumpy if I don't have enough (undisturbed) sleep.

Not looking to do a TP Run, but i'm sure the greater wisdom on this thread can maybe assist. I'm looking to travel between MIA and SAN on an AA 'A' class ticket and ba.com tells me this will result in 0 Tier Points - is this correct?

It appears to be AA metal with AA flight number so i am confused why it would be 0 TPs but 5000 odd AVIOS.

Thanks in advance

Smile Current tier point run opportunities

Given that its been reported that the BRU option has run out has anyone got dates and routes that would generate a decent pool of TPs?

I already have a BRU semi run going in August but that only yields 370 TPs.

I'd quite fancy something with 900+ TPs in July.

Thanks!

I hear that LAS is a good place to start a TP run - I presume I need to wait for a sale to book a TP run? I was aiming for 500-ish tier points and have about a week to get from LAS - YYZ early August and don't mind doing LAS-LAX-MIA-SJU return first, but when I chuck this into the multi-city AA.com tool (and selecting First with Restrictions), it comes out at about £847 (ouch!) for 620 tier points (then do LAS-YYZ direct for £170), but I feel there are better value routes out there from LAS but can't seem to find them (it seems I always have to include SJU to get good deals)! Any tips? Thanks.

Use ITA matrix first to see which dates have the good prices - picking the wrong flight can increase cost a lot

Also look at it as 2 one ways rather than a return

Good hunting

AY were doing fares to SYD for around £2600 in J starting from AMS/BRU. If these are still available then you could hope for a POUG on positioning flights and you should net around 800TPs.

Then again, for that money you could fly TATL to the US in Y and do one of the US runs, so it's your call.

Ultimately without another ex-EU sale, you're going to struggle to pick up that number of TPs without considerable spend.

Has the ex-EU sale now completely finished for the summer from all departure airports?

Yes. It was only a sale from selected cities. The last one to drop was yesterday.

The best value I can find right now is £2151 from IST-HNL on fare code INCEU7. However, this tariff does allow UK stopovers for €200 each, allowing the IST parts to be flown separately. This is not a sale fare, just a good value everyday fare.

IST-LHR-MIA-LAX-HNL and return for 1280TP at £2151 is £1.68/TP, quite respectable.

One ways price out at 50% of a round trip for what you are trying to do, so no difference in price.
