Rats. Rejected. I suspect I have too many other lines of credit available at present, despite not really using any of it. Will have to see if I can get the OH to apply in the meantime.

does anyone know if there's a referral bonus on the BA amex? my platinum is coming through this week and we're storing up avios for our honeymoon next year (the amex points has made the spending a little easier!). i'd like to grab a 2-4-1 but would benefit from a few more to get up to 100k to get a nice return flight.

Yes, but it isn't great (given they were offering 40k on the paid card not so long ago).

Never had a problem getting cards before but it seems Amex have been quite fussy on this occasion.

Has anyone else been asked to send in a signed agreement, driving licence attested by a official plus a proof of address?

That usually only happens if they are unable to verify your address electronically (usually through electoral register).

Quidco cashback is now £30 for 6 days (TCB is still £10.10), which might make it more attractive than referrals for some. If you don't use quidco regularly, you also need to take into account the £5 annual fee.

Travel bonus
AIRLINES: Air France, BA (triple miles for ex-EU), Jet Blue, LAN (international)
TRAINS: East Coast, East Midlands, First Great Western, Northern Spirit, Southern, South West, Trainline, Virgin
Expedia (prepaid hotel)
Hertz
Hilton*
Hotels.com (? triple miles)
Radisson*
Sheraton*
Trailfinders

Outbound spend bonus
Assume all non-Sterling transactions for now
Apple (UK website) "Apple Sales International"
Hotels.com (? triple miles)
Jet Blue (? triple miles)

* manual credit required
Aaaarggh.

I'm arguing with Amex now about double travel bonus on Hilton and Hyatt, with the 'MR team' apparently having looked at it and rejected my claim.

How do you go about this 'manual credit' of which you speak?

Assume you have a Gold Card?

Just send them a secure message and mention which transactions have only received single points and tell them how many additional points you should be awarded. What trouble have you had?

When you refer someone is there a way to track status of points?

No, neither can you track which referral is linked to which bonus.

However, if you don't have your points by the time they have got their card, you can assume something is up.

So I get the points as soon as they get their card regardless if they spend £2000 or not?
