It's a case of compromising (on dates, routes etc) or waiting until a bit closer to the time to redeem.

Some quick questions.
I can find 2xC and 1xF on the dates I want to get to FRA-MCO and back.
Ideally I would like 3xC but what I think I will do is book the 1xF and 2xC and change the F to C if another seat opens up later.
I assume that there will be no difference in tax between an F or C redemption so I would be looking at getting a good sum of miles back in return.
Can they just change the F redemption to a C redemption or do they need to cancel and rebook?
If it's a cancel job do they need to cancel all the tickets and rebook or just the F ticket?

I suspect it will be a change fee (20) rather than a cancel fee (25) - but by keeping the two items separated and isolated you reduce the chance of anything going wrong and losing all 3 seats.

ATM there's one seat in business on LX40 on the 15th. Nothing coming back.
NZ001 on the 15th, business... book it now! ok, we haven't figured out your way home yet but I'd certainly gamble 50 quid on securing these seats

Yes, definitely the way to go. Currently 3 business awards available on that flight, before allyjb asks. For the return, either book in coach for now and look to change later - or just hang on a while and keep checking.

Evening all.
Can some nice person check me LX to LAX on the 7th Oct in either C or F for 2.
The 8th was previously unavailable but I now need the 7th anyway.
Thanks

C is wide open (9) on LX40 ZRH-LAX. Connections from LCY (LX 451) and LHR (LX 345, LX 317) show as available, too, but there's probably a better and more tax-efficient way of getting from Yorkshire to ZRH.
