And I did the same simple search and found these:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-d...rd-travel.html (a very old thread - who here remembers Diamond Club mark I, who was called Julie?) and this: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-d...e-details.html

Will this allow?

MAN-ZRH-BKK-SIN(stopover)-MLE-SIN-BKK-LHR?

Newbie question (but yes I have looked/searched/read all 23 pages of the thread so please be gentle): when is a back track not a backtrack? Am wanting to book J award (first time ever for both!) out FCO - AKL back Wellington - Syd (stopover) - FCO.

The ANAtool (fantastic job on greasemonkey workaround BTW) gives me out: FCO-PEK-AKL which I assume is fine but gives
Return Wel -AKL-SYD-BKK-ZUR-FCO would this be allowed or is it a backtrack? :confused:

jbfield Aug 1, 2010 9:13 am

WEL-AKL-SYD should be ok if it's the only route coming up.
BKK-ZRH-FCO should also be ok as there don't appear to be many alternative choices.

don't see anything wrong with this although they have been wary of people booking redemptions out to MLE and not travelling the last leg - however as you are booking a return it should be fine

Yep.

I have been searching for some time for 2 x business seats on the CA PEK-DXB route. I can't find availability on any date.

The *A timetable doesn't offer any other routing (although it does offer DXB-BKK-PEK going the wrong way !)

What is the likelihood of PEK-BKK-DXB or PEK-SIN-DXB being allowed ? They look like an awfully long detour !

Or any other routing suggestion would be welcomed :)

Why in Y? After taxes and fees there's probably little difference going MAN-PHL-LAS rtn and paying cash?

I don't know when you plan to fly, but there are blackout dates on CA award.

Blackout 2010: (info from ANA web site)

China -> Europe(incl. DXB)
8/21-10/1 & 10/10-10/31

Europe(incl. DXB) -> China
10/5-10/11 & 12/17-12/23

Speaking of Canary Islands, I was informed today that TFN-BCN-WAW-ORD was not a valid routing and that I would be charged for two awards: TFN-BCN and BCN-ORD.

CAlex Aug 3, 2010 1:07 pm

I think the problem was the routing through WAW, as it is serious backtracking. Did you try smth like TFN-BCN-LHR-ORD?

izzik Aug 3, 2010 3:30 pm

I don't think it was extreme backtracking, since most European *A hubs are technically backtracking.. and there is no nonstop flight for BCN-LHR. USA - FRA - BCN is very common and that is not much worse than USA - WAW - BCN.

Oh well.. thank goodness for backup mileage programs ! :)

Zone 6(JNB) to Zone 5(TLV) via Zone 1(MUC) - Possible?

Hi All,

Was hoping someone could give me an opinion on this route as there is no direct route to these locations.

I already have a TLV-JNB via IST which means going via zone 2 (but no availability on the way back).

Thanks for your help.

J
