I saw one at Costco last weekend. Not impressed by the changes (updated front end, updated tail lights, updated rear end). Most striking, the black plastic that wraps up the rear to mid-license plate height looks goofy (I saw it in white; here is a pic of it in red, part way down the page). I am interested to see the color heads-up display, though.
Rented a '14 camaro from national already! Check out my rr there.

As always, great review. Hope you didn't mind me adding the link directly to your post so others can have it at their finger tips.

I had a loaner '14 BMW 328 while my car was in the shop. It had the heads up display and I thought it was cool for a short while then it became a little irritating. Wish I could have turned off the speed and only had it come on for directions from the nav.

- ORD
- Full-size
- Lincoln MKX (base) did not have any HIDs or any cool luxury toys. However still well equipped.
- Preferred

PC status really came through on this rental, thanks to a series of late-breaking travel changes. I ended up calling the PC line to get the unlisted number for STL (note: STL does not answer their phone), and asking STL if my wife could pick up the car. They agreed... and then her flight was delayed by almost 8 hours.

Despite all that, the Avis experience went like clockwork, with a nice vehicle to boot (although my wife said it was "sort of a boat" )

I have seen the Corvette in FLL and MIA for an extra $200 per day and thought it was over priced. But if I see the '14 Stingray at RSW for my honeymoon, it's mine. I'll even pay full upgrade price (even though I could talk them down $50-$100).

I would have kept the Lincoln.

+1, so long as it didn't reek of smoke. Most of the MKXs in the fleet these days are getting old

It is just a personal preference that I really don't like any of the Lincoln's. And it has been my experience of at least 20 rentals this year at ORD and LAX that when I rent Full Size, ~80% of the time I am assigned a Lincoln.

Ford Flex sounds fun. I've never been in one, I might have taken that as well.

Personally I like them as a rental car, however today I passed a stretch MK limo on a highway in Florida which was the UGLIest limo I have ever seen.

I was surprised by how well it drove. Sure, it wasn't as nimble as a 2-dr sports car, but it drove much better than minivans or others as large as the Flex. I quite like it. I also had one around Boston and it wasn't too big for the city for a few days.

(Off-topic, but we'll go there anyway )

Which MK, the MKT? That's what FMC is pushing to replace the defunct Town Car for fleet/limos. I agree it doesn't look nice at all when stretched, but there isn't too much else for limos these days (maybe 300, Expedition/Navigator, Escalade.. can't think of any others currently in production. I'd like to see a stretch XTS to replace the DTS)
