LAX
PC
Rented: Full Size
Nothing Assigned (Arrived 30 min early, but nothing assigned yet)
Requested: Infiniti or BMW (At least twice recently I have been flat out assigned a BMW when arriving LAX early in the week)....was told those cars are in a "special class"
Received: Volvo C70 convertible with 29k miles and no nav. Though I'm content with it and it was worth trying out a convertible.

The whole summer I had dealt with several Avis Reps at LAX who were willing to work with me to get me what I wanted within reason. This rep didn't seen to know much about anything. I conceded on the BMW upgrade but was told as a PC renting a Full Size I could not be upgraded to any Infiniti. Forgive me but isn't Full Size>Luxury two classes? She actually offered me a Camaro, Wrangler, a bunch of Lincoln's, and the Volvo. Just realized the Camaro and Wrangler are in the same class as BMW's

Booked intermediate, received SUV = Dodge Durango fully loaded with leather. Not a bad ride, but too big for Chicago.

The good news / bad news is that I usually don't spend much time in Boston when I fly into BOS.

This is the 11th time I've rented from Avis at BOS since December 2012. During that Dec trip a snowstorm was expected, so my admin made the reservation to ensure I had an SUV (got a Volvo XC60). Since then, it looks like Avis has decided that I want an SUV on every rental there. I've had a number of Ford Edges, which I kind of like, a Kia Sorrento and a Hyundai Santa Fe (which are almost identical). On the last two trips in the last three weeks, I was offered the Expedition and an Explorer. I'm tired of the SUVs and have been going to the counter for trades (which will last until the first snow).

First time renting with Avis.

Airport: MSO
Status: Avis 1st (UA Club CC)
Rental length: 2 days
Rented: Full-size
Requested: None
Received: Choice of Buick LaCrosse or Subaru Outback, took the Buick

And I'm under 25 if that makes a difference. Along with some exchange students, I learned the hard way that getting around without a car in Montana is difficult at best, so we rented a car. Don't really like the policy of no additional drivers under 25; after three hours on the highway I was really wishing I could switch off with one of my classmates.

Did you have to pay Avis an underage fee? Free Hertz Gold Family would have eliminated that

Yes, I paid the underage fee, was told they made no exceptions to that esepecially since I need to find a rental for Thanksgiving break and it's really quite a bit.

Now how do I get Hertz Gold Family?

It's discussed in another thread on the Hertz forum. The URL is hertz.com/goldfamily

KOA
Avis 1st
rented: I forget, really. Full-size?
waiting in lot: hideous Taurus thing
requested:hybrid due to high island fuel prices
got: C-Max, 47.4mpg!

I was charged for a premium car, but is a C-Max really in that category? It's pretty basic aside from the hybrid drive.

It's a specialty vehicle, so technically costs more than Premium I think.
