As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

I am not a Farmers/Zurich customer. Has anyone ever had to "prove" any membership/coverage with this code?

Thanks
Funny, everything I have heard about the Farmer's code recently has been about it not working any longer, and the scuttlebutt has been that it has been discontinued. But, that seems not to be the case.....

Confirmation, no proof will be requested in my experience with the Farmer's code.

A113400 State of FL employee rate-->EXCELLENT RATE!!

Anyone use this recently?

A113400 State of FL employee rate-->EXCELLENT RATE!!

I'm not a State of FL employee so I'm curious if I'll have to show some proof of this or if a better coupon exists. My original reservation was for $210 and with this code it is now $95.

Thanks

Well, stop and think about it (and then do a search on this thread for more info about A113400), and you might come to the conclusion that it would not be a really great idea if you were planning on picking up somewhere in Florida and using that rate. (I admit to using that rate several times recently, but none in Florida.....as a matter of fact, I live in Florida, so it might look appropriate when someone looks at my rez, but no way of knowing for sure.) No, there is almost no better AWD number out there, for rates, than A113400, for real. (Identification seems to be an issue for some people, although it never has been an issue for me.)

Any suggestions for a 23-yo one-way rental MDT to NYC 13 May to 20 May? With X352100 (Regency Development, supposedly waives the underage fee) for MDT to MDT rental it's $86.50++ $146.90. MDT to JFK with the same code is $86.50++ $322.62. If I can get it to the $275 a/i range, I'll switch from the MDT/MDT to MDT/JFK since my MDT-NYC Amtrak tix cost $100.

Rather than risk getting caught without ID for a contract code with special benefits, I recommend the Hertz Underage Coupon.

CDP AAA
PC 144314

MDT roundtrip
economy car
unlimited miles
$141.36 all in

MDT->JFK
$475.05 all in

but Harrisburg HLE ->JFK
$331.97 all in, compact (same price as economy)

FL State Employee Rate Code A113400

I'm considering using this code and wondering if anyone else has tried this...I live in FL and need a standard SUV for a week. The best rate I could get using a generic/no ID discount code was $468, but using the FL employee code brought it down to $223! I'm a little worried about the "show your ID" thing, but if I have a Wizard number, am registered as a Preferred member and use the "Pay Now" option, won't I be able to go straight to my vehicle without checking in or having to show an ID? I'd like to pickup at a local office that is identified as a "Preferred location", but I can go to Tampa airport if that would make any difference. Please let me know if this scenario has worked for you, thanks all!

The chances of you getting caught IN FLORIDA for using the Florida Employee code is probably over 90%. Just because you are Preferred does not mean that no one at Avis visually checks reservations before putting the folder in your car. And yes, other people have tried what you are proposing and have gotten caught. Do a search on this thread for "A113400" and see what comes up!

Why do these FL Employee Code questions keep coming up again and again and again...

It's quite simple - don't use the code.

Why? One word............GREED! People see how great of a rate that code yields, and they can't resist, some throwing all caution to the wind.

Some of us have a complete lack of self control.

Hi. I'm a Hong Kong based Brit looking to rent a car in the UK, intermediate ideally, from June 26 for 23 days. I have tried lots of the codes published here and most give out the same price of GBP 654.41.

However, if I use no AWD code at all, and I become a "US resident" on the form, it magically gives me a rate of GBP623.

OK, not a huge amount in the big scheme of things, but every penny / cent counts these days. Incidentally, the BA link to Avis comes out at a whopping GBP910

Does anyone have any better ideas or different companies etc that would work in the UK? Thanks in advance.

I just spent about 20 minutes trying 15-20 codes on the avis site for a 4 day rental in IND, the 'deal' rate from avis' home page was $167, my rate is $158, everyone I've found here is the same as mine.

The NRA was $127, costco $124, those are the pay now rates, I don't recall any other codes bringing up those rates, otherwise they were $158.

AWD A415900 BJs Wholesalers

AWD A415900 BJs Wholesalers (If you are unfamiliar with BJs it's like Costco and Sam's Club) [I realize this code has appeared before in this thread but last showing was 2008]

AWD 25% off for BJs members - call 800-255-7094 - through 12/31/11
I've used it on line without calling and never had a problem

Coupon MUGH268 - $20 off a weekly rental - 5+ days - intermediate to full - through 12/31/11

I've never been asked for any proof of BJs membership when using discount codes or coupon codes for either Avis or Budget. I've always booked on line at avis.com or budget.com.
