As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

HOWEVER, without a lot more information from you, it is not possible to help you. It is very possible to get a lower rate.
In order to help you, please supply the following info:
1) What type of car would you like? (sub compact, compact, intermediate, standard, full, intermediate suv, etc);
2) What is your preferred pick up and drop off location? (airport, in town, or suburbs [cheapest], the price difference will be huge);
3) What AWD numbers are you actually entitled to use and which have you tried?
4) What is your actual budget?

Awd# Q319767
Found this code on this thread and it it worked.
AWD# Q319767
Got great rates for standard and full size cars. Rate jumped if you picked premium. tried a couple other codes, but they were not unlimited miles.
No problem using and the counter people did not ask for anything.

You want to rent a car for approximately 92 days in NYC for approximately $31.97 per day, and you think that is not a good rate? NYC is a very expensive rental car city.

Looking for a one-way rental from Grand Rapids, MI (preferably Plainfield Avenue location) to Rochester, NY (airport is fine) from May 16 morning to May 19 night. Preferably a standard or full-size car as will have 4 adults plus luggage with us.
However, all of the AWD codes I tried result in NO miles included! Can anyone help me in getting cheap rate PLUS some miles included? Even 125 a day would be suffice. Estimating 700-800 miles for the trip. Hoping to not go over 300 dollars all in.
Cheapest AWDs I found:
G930700 (IBM), cheapest rate plus 0.27/mile
A972200 (Farmers) + 0.4/mile
A074800 (Citi Leisure) + 0.38/mile
B771000 (not recommended?) + 0.3/mile
B449700 (unknown) + 0.35/mile
Any recent experience with those codes and is ID required for each?
Thanks

The best rate that I could find is A074800 (Citicorp Leisure Travel), which should get you $148.00, plus taxes and fees, for a full size car (Avis example is Chevrolet Impala), or $216.00++ for a premium car (Avis example is Buick Lucerne), both requiring you return to one of the non-airport locations, which would mean you have to get it turned in before 6 PM on May 19. There is no mention of mileage charges for this rate, but I would call Avis rez to confirm that rate does not include mileage charges, just to be sure. Good luck and safe driving!

That must mean that my Chairman's Club membership produces a different rate than non CC members for certain AWD numbers. Would someone else try it and see what they come up with for that AWD number?

1) I started here http://www.hawaiianairlines.com/
2) Hovered over "Book Travel" at the top of the page and clicked on Car Rentals which took me here.
3) Scrolled down to Avis/Find Avis Specials. (<<K816401 is part of the link!)
4) Which took me to avis.com with K816401 pre-filled into the AWD field on the main booking page. (<< because K816401 was part of the link)
Maybe..... you transposed 2 numbers in your reservation.... the agent was looking at the wrong reservation... the agent fat-fingered the code when cross-referencing it with T&C... ???
I'm not saying these any of these things happened but you asked where the info came from that K816401 was for Hawaiian Airlines. This is where I got it.

That works great, but does anyone happen to know the range of discount that the Hawaiian Airlines code (K816401) is worth for US rentals with Avis? (is it 20-40% off, or is it just 10-15% off, etc.)

I don't remember precisely, but for us, it was in the 20-40% off range.

First, what city were you renting in.
Second, do you happen to know what company or association that H854900 is tagged to?
Third, was that rental the first time that you used H854900, or have you used it multiple times before?
