I checked for some rentals and the codes that work for me are A177232 (USAA) and B999000 (AVIS Employee??). I looked up the USAA AVIS rental benefits it seems that there are a few mentioned at http://www.avis.com/car-rental/html/...faq.html#ans12

I am having second thoughts on using the USAA codes in case I get into an accident. My guess is that once that happens, your AWD code gets looked at to see if you qualify for any waivers and at that point it might become apparant to AVIS that the usage of that code is invalid for my rental. (I waive all insurance coverages at the time of rental). Has anyone have any experience with this kinda situation? My real fear is that not only will AVIS invalidate the code after the accident (I can live with that) but AMEX will not allow me to use the Premium Rental Protection because I committed "fraud" in the first place.

The other code B999000 seems to be too good to be true. If I actually use the avis.co.uk site and use this code on top of that, I am getting luxury car (with LDW/SLI included) for a ridiculous amount. It is discounting the full sticker price by about 80~90%, which I am sure will guarantee a second look at my reservation. I read some older threads, and it seems that this code is a big trouble.

I would be leery of using those because of the reasons you stated regarding the USAA insurance. As for the employee rate, in the past (when I was an employee) we had to have a letter at the point of rental. Though some places don't check, those are few and far between in my experience. The Priceline discount number has worked for me (recently saved me $60 in FL- yay! Thanks to the person who posted)

I guess this issue needs another bump. NEVER call reservations for any travel company when considering the use of a discount code. Never. Ever. Not just Avis, but any travel vendor.
If anyone has a question about a code, post it here - and if it's not answered, use the code at your own risk and make a back-up reservation elsewhere just in case.

HUGE +1 (bolding and color emphasis MINE)

Basically, calling rez to ask what a discount code is for is like saying to them, "get ready, be on warning, I am thinking of stealing from you!"

Delta/Avis Bonus Miles Coupon

Hello All:
Does anyone know of a new Delta/AVIS Bonus Coupon that is good until June 30, 2010 or later? Thanks.

Deals from July 1st

I noticed that all the deals posted at avis.com are only valid until June 30.

I am looking to rent Jul 2-6. Do you know when they might post deals valid in that period? I basically want a Last Minute Deal or a Free Weekend day coupon.

One way Avis rental end of July/August

I'm traveling to YVR at the end of July or beginning of August and thinking of renting one way to YEG or closest drop off taking perhaps a week. Other than the standard promos you find on Avis website is there any AWD's that I may find useful?
Cheers

AWD #G417900 is rumored to be good for one way rentals, and you might also try A686200 (Priceline), which is also rumored to be good for one ways. However, I am not sure whether either of these will be good for Canadian rentals.

For summer rentals $-off, %-off, and free-day coupons are less abundant than other times of the year. Don't know if you care about miles promos but there are several Avis bonus promos running past June 30. You can find them list in post #1 of Q2 2010 Car Rental Bonus Promos!.

I have been getting some $ relief by using autoslash.com which is a recent new arrival on the car rental booking scene run by a fellow FlyerTalker. This site recently beat the Budget COSTCO code by about $20 for a 6-day rental in DEN and a little bit more for another 6-day in CMH.

Wish I had a free weekend day promo code to share with you but I'm tapped out at the moment.

Thanks USirritated, I'll give them a try and see what happens.:)

ok Thanks. I have a National reservation at $200 for 4 days. Will see if there is a last minute deal or something at Avis later.

Thanks for the link to the promos, its very useful to get all the info.

Discount code in Israel

I booked an Avis already in Israel for 2 days. Are there any codes I can give to them when I pick it up to collect miles or discounts? I was in a rush when I booked them and didn't do my proper research.

Avis UK is offering 10% off. I checked a few rates and they take 10% off on all.

C356672

People, you can use Avis discount code AWD # C356672. It's been posted everywhere on the Internet and used by almost everyone. It provides good discount and can be used with coupon. Get unlimited miles and saved $100.

Do you know what C356672 is for? I know it is an AWD number, but is it a corporate AWD number? Or maybe it's an association AWD number? Or maybe it's a government AWD number?

If you don't know what it's for, it could be an embarrassing or problematical situation, don't you think?

You can, and should, call reservations ahead of time, to input whatever AWD number and whatever coupon you have, because if you do it in person, the rental agent might ask you what it's for, especially in Israel or outside North America, where they tend to stickler's about details, IME, although YMMV of course.

Yes good in Canada and still one of the most reliable codes out there in my opinion. G417900 gets excellent rates, unlimited mileage, and never a hassle.
