I don't know if I'm going to be traveling in the next two months, and I'm not particularly interested in staying in a local hotel just to burn the $300.
I did buy a $100 eGift Card as a test, and it did reimburse me within a few business days, though I know this is not officially supported by the T&Cs.

That said, the T&C's also seem to suggest that merely dining in a hotel restaurant does not qualify unless it is charged to my room folio. Even though I thought this was an intended use case. I've called around to a few properties and it seems difficult to get a physical gift card too, unless they special order it. So now I'm running out of time to use what has traditionally been the easiest credit to use in my Amex card lineup. In any other year, it would be gone within 1-2 months of renewal.

For those people who have had credits clawed back, what does that look like? Is it usually just in the case where someone is engaging in other routine "abuse" of the system? Or are they catching these in routine audits? Or are these clawbacks merely theoretical?

The T&Cs state that things like dining charges must be charged to the room to count. Are there experiences where food charges not associated with a stay have credited with this? We are periodically near Bonvoy properties where we're not staying, so it would be cool to have this work.

Cheers.
I recognize this question is from May, but for future reference, I live in HI and have utilized this credit for dining at Kai market in the Sheraton and Mai Tai bar in the Royal Hawaiian. These were simply POS charges at the restaurant/bar.

thanks. Since asking that I have learned that Gift Cards also work, so I buy those , get the credit and then use the GC at POS locations.

Cheers.

Have you looked at the benefit terms online?

https://www.americanexpress.com/us/c...voy-brilliant/

Offer & Benefit Terms > search for $300 Marriott Bonvoy Statement Credit

Seems unlikely to have changed in ~3 months. If you are eager for a fresher DP, perhaps take a chance on $25 and report back?

Has anyone had any luck getting the credit manually applied to their account after expiry? My account renewal day is today 20/1. I completely forgot about this and only used half. Both chat and phone agents say the credit cannot be applied from previous card year. If I make a purchase today it will redeem the new credit

It's gone. And even if you somehow managed to find an agent who would, how that would play out with current credits and past would be a total mess and pain in the ...

That's great news, thanks! I wonder if it is stackable using the Spend $250 or more, get $50 back offer.

I had that Offer added when I purchased the Gift Card, but no $50 back. I wasn't expecting it as I read it's not stackable; maybe I should have tried $350 instead of $300. Has anyone gotten Amex Offers credit back when purchasing online GC?

Was it a physical gift card or an e-gift card?
