The remaining balance worked as well. This was for the physical gift cards. I got the credit one day after it was posted on the AMEX website. The purchase was on 4/17, and the credit was on 4/20.

There's 20% sales of eGC and I 'm tempted to use it to maximize the benefit.

The discounts seem to only be available on certain denominations: $50, $100, $250, $500, and $1000. This prevents buying $375 in gift cards to precisely max out the $300 credit. The best options are to buy $350 worth for $280 or buy $400 worth for $320.

I bought a gift card at 20% off. $500 denomination for $400. Purchased on 13 May, reimbursed the remainder of my credit this year on 16 May.

Due to COVID, can now use credit towards restaurants including take-out and delivery thru August.

Does anyone know if you can use food delivery services like Uber Eats, DoorDash, or Grubhub?

Thanks!

Here are the terms. I bolded the line that I think implies those services shouldn't count. They may get credited anyway, but you wouldn't really have a good argument if they don't. Note, this offer starts tomorrow.

$300 Marriott Bonvoy Statement Credit: Effective June 1, 2020 August 31, 2020

From June 1, 2020 through August 31, 2020 (Purchase Period), purchases made at restaurants located in the U.S. on your Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card qualify toward the total amount of statement credits you can receive as part of the $300 Marriott Bonvoy Statement Credit benefit.

You may not get a statement credit for purchases at a restaurant located within another establishment (e.g. a restaurant located inside a hotel, casino, or event venue). For example, purchases made at a restaurant located within a hotel may be recognized as a purchase at a hotel, not a restaurant. You will not earn additional statement credits for purchases at bars, nightclubs, cafeterias, and convenience stores. This offer is only available for the Purchase Period. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time.

Purchases may fall outside of the Purchase Period in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped). Eligible purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on a single Card account. Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits.

Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. A purchase will not be eligible if the merchant's code is not eligible. Purchases made through a third-party payment account or on an online marketplace (with multiple retailers) will not be eligible. A purchase may not be eligible if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet.
