Saw the lounge space from our plane while taxiing. Still completely gutted interior without any progress. No updates on signage inside.

Welcome to Flyertalk @Krivad.

I knew AMEX was getting a lounge into DEN, but wish it was open. Just booked my family flights here for next month- would have been a nice way to start the journey back home

Some of my favorite Denver restaurants are Linger and Root Down.

Safta at The Source. Great chef, but more likely to be someone with a bigger footprint like Troy Guard or Frank Bonanno or the Edible Beats group (Linger, Root Down as mentioned above).

Looked up Source, interesting since it parallels Solmanenov at who was the choice for PHL's lounge.

Higher up Amex rep told me the lounge is scheduled to open 1st Quarter 2020 around Feb/March. Said the lounge is essentially "done" they're just having issues with finishes/wiring/connectivity. Couldn't bring myself to mention it was still gutted a few weeks ago.

Also, they gave me $500 statement credit to keep my Platinum card open after telling them I was going to downgrade the card since the DEN Centurion Lounge has been massively delayed into 2020.

Wow! Are you based out of the Denver area?

I reached out to the airport to get more info and they replied with FALL of 2020, 2.5 YEARS after it was announced. Starting to wonder if it will ever open....

Renewed my card on the announcement two years ago but starting to wonder if worthwhile. Most of my CL visits in other cities in the past two years were very crowded, limited seating, not a great experience. Maybe Denver will be different, if it eventually opens.

tnorris, welcome to Flyertalk.

Like your optimism, but it seems all the space that AMEX creates gets filled.

Best of luck ^

Fwiw, I asked an Amex phone agent if they had a status update and they didn't (figured it was worth a try). Unprompted, though, she gave me a $50 credit for the inconvenience. My card recently renewed this fall, so I'm no where close to renewing again. If there is no expected open date by end of summer, I'll likely call to cancel to see what else they're willing to do. DEN is my home airport and the promise of that lounge has been a key reason I kept the Platinum this past year.

Fingers crossed it's worth the wait.

Datapoint for everyone: Denver-based flyer, Amex OPEN business card, had it for maybe 4-5 years.

Chatted in on the Amex website,

Me: "I kept this card open to use the Denver Centurion lounge and it's still not open. Now that the $595 fee is due again, I am going to cancel"

Chat person: "I am truly sorry fo that. Ok, we are now fully cancelling your card, terms and conditions, say yes or no.

Me: "No"

--------

Call in last night, say the same thing. I do not ask for a retention specialist nor any compensation, just say I'm considering canceling. She says, "OK, we will cancel now for you."

No pushback from them, not even a sentence to try to keep me. I canceled. Don't know if I'm not a "high value" customer or if I should have pressed harder, but both times zero resistance to cancel.

Was hoping for the $500 credit someone posted earlier as wework is nice. But here we are

Honestly, I would fly Delta in your shoes. Just go to the AMEX Lounge for the food and cocktails; then head over to the Delta lounge to relax.
