A post on Reddit suggests that you can find a 50K offer, but with a $100 credit, by doing a dummy booking on Delta.com.
The offer should appear before you have to pay for the flight. [Did [b]not work when I booked a flt today, 3/15/17.]

Getting the statement credit:
MrMoonlight successfully purchased a Delta ecert (essentially a gift card) and received the statement credit. See this post..
Jacobsta811 also received $50 credit for $50 e-cert on both gold business and gold personal cards.
muji received $100 credit for $50 eCert on Delta Platinum card
sdsearch received $100 credit for $50 eCert on business Platinum card (see this post).

Probably yes. There have been reported clawbacks of welcome RDMs and also of MQMs (Plat and Reserve cards) when the account is hit with returns and other credits that eliminate or reduce the amount of a purchase. Often this happens when it's too late to arrange additional spend during the relevant period.

Consider changing to a different itinerary. The cruise line will transfer the payment and not refund. Otherwise ask for future cruise credit instead of refund

If the itinerary changes, it won't happen until after the 3 month window to meet minimum spend expires. It would be too late to recoup the spend. I am trying to bring forward some household bills but my normal daily expenses are not that much.

It's a cruise from BNE to PNG and the Pacific Islands have been slow to reopen after Covid.

There are reports of clawbacks under just this circumstance, so it's almost certain that AmEx has an automated system to flag this.

It should not be difficult to prepay some expenses, or load up on gift cards for things you regularly spend on (Amazon, Supermarket, Restaurants, hotels, etc.)

Thanks for inflation, $2,000 does not go that far.

Need help, I got Delta gold card with $200 statement credit (after a qualifying delta purchase). I am not planning to travel on delta very soon. Anyone knows if award flight tax of $5.60 triggers the statement credit? I am planning to buy a dummy basic ticket with points 4.5K+$5.60 and not show up, if this flight tax triggers the credit. What is the alternative, buying a gift card (physical or e-gift card)?

My car solved the problem, brake pads and some other work added up. I met the target. Will the points post right away or do I have to wait until the statement closes?

Delta Gold American express offer

AE has an offer for Delta Gold: 50k mile + 400 statement credits if a delta purchase is made in three months.

Can anyone help me understand what the the delta purchase is other than ticket purchase? delta club, inflight meal? I don't have plan to purchase a ticket in the next three months and I did have a booked trip coming up. Any suggestions?

Inflight purchase, wifi, seat upgrade should all trigger it. You can't buy club access unless you have a membership or a relevant AMEX card.

Should I get a Delta card for upcoming Delta flight

Planning our next trip to AMS with Delta. I currently have Chase Reserve + Chase United, still under the 5/24 rule. As we are coming to the retirement age, anticipating we'll be traveling more around the world. Would it be good idea to start build up my Delta points with Delta Reserve - the new card member MQM miles is very attractive, and use the Delta to book the AMS trip for 3x on the flight purchase?

btw, was in LAX 2 weeks ago with AA in Terminal 4. Very disappointed that Proprity Pass from Chase Reserve has no lounge in that terminal, only AA Admiral Club is available in that terminal. Thus made me thinking to start getting airline cards.

My goal is to get AMEX plattium card in future also once I get all the Chase cards.

The Delta cards are issued by American Express. If you want to earn Delta miles, it’s not possible with Chase credit cards.

Suggest that you check the redemption rates for Delta award flights that you might actually want to take in the future before being lured by a high sign-up bonus.

How many UR points would you earn per dollar if you were to charge the AMS flights to your Sapphire Reserve card? Chase UR points can be transferred to Delta partners -- and many other programs -- and then redeemed for travel on Delta if desired.

ha ok, thanks for the info. I really need to get into the habit to compare the points from UR portal first.
