Also check Delta.com: Sometimes better offers might be available there.

The Amex referral page has a 60K offer for the Delta Personal card.

The following offers for up to 70K on personal and business:

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en....html#Platinum

valid through 04/11/2018

There are several 60, 000 miles offers for the personal card with the first year annual fee waived the first year, valid through May 1, 2019. They are listed in this referral thread. These are way better than the current standard public offer of 30,000 miles shown on Delta's website

Delta Amex Gold personal card: 50k+10k miles + $50 statement credit, $2,000 spend, $95 annual fee waived the first year

https://www262.americanexpress.com/business-card-application/flexapp/platinum-delta-skymiles-business-credit-card

If you are current Delta Platinum AMEX cardholder, you might be eligible for 10K referral offer. New cardmember bonus is 70K.

Gold Personal:
"Earn 60,000 bonus miles after you make $2,000 in purchases on your new Card within your first 3 months and $1000 more w/in 6 months and a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months."
https://www.americanexpress.com/us/c...elta-skymiles/

A post on Reddit suggests that you can find a 50K offer, but with a $100 credit, by doing a dummy booking on Delta.com.
The offer should appear before you have to pay for the flight. [Did [b]not work when I booked a flt today, 3/15/17.]

Note: Review the recent discussion in the thread about various other ways to try to locate offers as high as 50k+$50 credit.

Getting the statement credit:
MrMoonlight successfully purchased a Delta ecert (essentially a gift card) and received the statement credit. See this post..
Jacobsta811 also received $50 credit for $50 e-cert on both gold business and gold personal cards.
muji received $100 credit for $50 eCert on Delta Platinum card
sdsearch received $100 credit for $50 eCert on business Platinum card (see this post).
vah4883 received $100 credit for $5.6 tax on Platinum card
philemer received $100 credit for buying a box lunch on board

Here's a very recent data point for you: Same situation. Finished spend on Plat 6/27. Points posted 7/1. Haven't reached the close yet. So you're likely to be fine.

Thanks ray1111...that's encouraging news. By any chance, do/have you ever had the Gold as well? I was thinking maybe because I did both within a year, maybe my account was flagged for something? I did check, and all my spending was legit. No gift cards or returns or anything like that...

Have the gold; I've had it 2+ years. The plat will now replace it. BTW, my experience is that a Delta gift card (which gets a credit) is fine as part of the spend.

Sign-up bonus and normal spending miles earned in June 3rd stmt still not posted to Delta account. Almost 6 weeks. The statement showed correct miles earned and Delta showed correct MQD tracked. Chatted with Amex rep and Delta rep, both saying “points are pending. No way to expedite.”. Has anyone met similar issues? Any solution for this? Thanks.

SO....spoke with rep from AMEX today...they had to open a ticket to look into why the miles haven't posted and are attempting to expedite the release of the miles. However, today my regular miles I earned for spending showed up, as did a little "gift" from AMEX...a CR last week offered me 3,000 miles for my patience, and those showed up. Still no bonus miles...I'm beginning to think it may be a while.

If I book a refundable Delta flight, for say, 6 months from now and use my Delta Plat Biz, will the card be credited with the $100 statement credit?

You need to call Amex or check your online account to see if any upgrade offers exist for your card.

Upgrade offers usually aren't as good as new card offers. You could consider applying for a new Delta Platinum card since you are allowed to hold both the Gold and Platinum, Amex considers them separate products, and you would be eligible for whatever new card offer is available at the time.

Note that the offer you cited isn't very good on the Platinum -- a few times a year Delta typically has a Platinum sign-up offer of something like 70K miles and 10K MQMs. I would definitely wait for one of those offers if you're considering the card, as they come around pretty routinely.

Though one possibly useful thing about upgrading rather than getting an entirely new card is that money spent on a Skymiles Gold AmEx card will then count toward the $25k spend requirements to get the 10k MQM and 10k redeemable miles bonuses on a Skymiles Platinum AmEx for that calendar year (and any additional threshold bonuses on upgraded Delta AmEx cards)

i know the offer wasn't good but its better than nothing....don't want to hold both gold & plat cards so i guess i'll just wait for another offer to come around....

there is a small chance i may be around 5k mqm short of re-qualifying for diamond....my only reason for wanting to get the plat card is to cover myself in the unlikely event that happens....

Met spending on May 30th. Stmt showed correct amount of miles earned. Now it's been 7 weeks. No bonus miles or normal spend miles posted. Called rep/supervisor and they told me "miles are awaiting transfer. can take up tp 12 weeks". Does anyone have similar issues recently? I just wanted to know how long this usually takes in this "awaiting transfer" status.
