We will not admit Platinum Card Members more than 3 hours before the departure time on the Platinum Card Member’s same-day, confirmed boarding pass. This does not apply to Platinum Card Members with a connecting flight.

This is a little disappointing as I will go out of my way to carve out time to go the Centurion Lounges when I am near one, but I'm not sure I've done it for more 2-3 hours (conference ended early, just went to the airport to work). That said, this is only a small part of the benefit for me. If they try to get rid of the DL access....different story.
I have noticed how crowded the lounges have been recently, so I guess I dont completely hate this idea.

That I agree and that's why I had not used Amex for my plane tix much.
Not to plant ideas in Amex's head, but one way to increase spending and decrease crowding is to require use of Amex card to purchase (or pay taxes on award tix) the plane ticket to access the Centurion Lounge. That would be way more effective than the 3 hour limit or no access arrival.

The $200 airline credit isn't hard to use unless you don't try. Same with the $100 Saks credit. Its free money. People gripe because the AMEX credit isn't a flat $XXX credit on your statement like the $300 CSR travel credit is, but it can be just as powerful if you make an effort.

The no arrivals is somewhat annoying as I fly from into Las Vegas from Southern California and I use the lounge while my hotel room is being prepped. I say a little annoying as I usually stay at Ritz Carlton, Marriott, or Starwood Properties and would not mind spending time in the hotel lounge until my room is prepared. I suggest the best was to make up for this is to utilize the Marriott Status, upgrade to Plat using the Marriott Challange, then spend the time in the lounge OR to book via the FHR program.

Saved about a grand last year. If you're just flying economy (sorry), I agree, no value.
Huh? I've never been refused. You do have to be flying DL
Not if you fly in/out of either airport frequently. Best lounge at MSP, only lounge at OAK.
Your loss. Last year, I rented Audis, Infinits, and Acuras for mid-size price.
Really? I used $550 in credits last year on UA. And UA's the "hardest" airline to use them on.
Right. It's all about you

Yes, UA's IT department can't get their **** together and fix the gift registry. I almost got screwed last year if not for a flight I changed. I'd much rather have UA credits than WN GCs because I fly UA all the time and I fly all other airlines very rarely.

If you need travel insurance, buy travel insurance.

How did you use your UA credits? they disabled the cash out for the gift account program, and I'm not paying change fees on mileage tickets, or E+... ?

I was just in LAS and there was a line waiting and crowding. As a Centurion I was shown in immediately and escorted to reserved seating. A few "trolls" wandered in but I didnt mind. They really should monitor the reserved area a little better.

Speaking of the bar, i wish they would go back to rotating the scotch selection for Cent card holders. It's been Aberlore for a long long time.

Does LAS just have the little "reserved" sign that they put on a table if it frees up? I've noticed there is usually only one table at SFO right near the buffet and people will often squat at it. Usually, the folks working the desk will get one of the others to pounce on an available table when one opens. When it's crowded your choices are going to be slim and in the back near the kid's area, but at least you are sitting down.
I love how Mexico City has an entire segregated Centurion section. Plus, free haircuts!

SFO currently a madhouse. Sitting on a bench because we couldn't find available seats, and it doesn't appear to be clearing up over time...
