Reminder: you must enroll and select AS as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. Click HERE to enroll.
As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates

According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)

Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase. Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

Another Data Point: Recent purchase of $64.30 and $63.30 one-way low-cost fares were refunded 3 days after posting.

I've heard a few reports of it not working, but overwhelmingly it works. And don't forget that baggage fees, food and drink, and seat assignments absolutely do work.

Need a cheap refundable (to MVP Gold) flight?

Im looking for a flight that's not-Saver under $55 -- what's best way to search? That's all I have left on my Amex Plat credit...

If you are just refunding to your wallet so that the routing doesn't matter, your best bet is a one way LAX-LAS (Las Vegas). Plenty of days in June with Main selling for <$54.

As a MVPGold I wanted to test cancelling the ticket within 24 hours and much later if the credit posts.

Bought: 85 fare ticket x2 May 20
Credited: May 27
Both posted back so either method works

I'm assuming by "posted back" you mean you cancelled the tickets and the refund posted to your account, as well as the reimbursement credit from Amex?

It certainly appears to work, but whether this is a good idea (especially repeatedly) depends on your relationship with Amex.

For baggage and food credit, contact AMEX. Those items are explicitly allowed as airline incidentals so there should be no downside to calling it to their attention.

How long ago did they post to the card? AS can be slow to put the charge thru, then once it's thru, Amex needs a few days to credit it off.

I did call and they told me it takes up to 14 days to post, which I know is not true as previously I have had credits post within 2-3 days. The flight was on May 20 so will wait a few more days.

I've got $42 left of credit from my $200 Amex Plat benefit - what's the best thing I can spend it on for AS?
