I used the new showers in the FL about a week ago and thought they were great. The design is quite stylish and they are definitely an upgrade from the old ones. The only downside I encountered was that I had to wait a long time for hot water. They still don't have toiletries on offer like QF does, but it's not a big deal to me.

I stopped in the FL a few weeks back. Seems nice, but the staff I interacted with weren't very "enthusiastic", and on each of my visits there always seems to be a commotion at the check-in area with people being refused entry etc. Did a quick walkthrough of the FL. Contemplated using one the "quiet rooms" or whatever they call them (near the dining room) as it was empty except for one person, but this as* got on their phone and duly started screaming and berating at some poor sod (so much of no cell phones). Decided I'd rather be in the QF lounge and headed there for a much more civilized experience. Maybe I just hit the FL on a bad day ...

Once inside, on four separate occasions so far this year, I've found the late afternoon / evening staff working the buffet and pho stations to be unusually professional, attentive and friendly.

I've only seen the "drama" once for FL entrance. Person was upset they weren't allowed in at all but I "apparently waltz right in and wasn't ID'd. Not true. I just made myself small upon entering and kept it short and sweet!!
will be there Wednesday evening after visiting QFL. Always enjoy QFL first then over to FL to wait with the masses before boarding Intl flights on AA lately.
Ive noticed though that if I skip FL on my return but visit AC at the nest, they offer me drink chits. Interesting!

Interesting... I figured something along that line was the case.
Often my pattern upon returning to the US at LAX, time permitting, I will venture over to TBIT for the Q FL then over to the nest for my connection up to SFO. But then there have been those "lazy/not so much leisure time" moments when I'll dash from TBIT to T4 and stop at the T4 lounge area for my break before heading over to the nest. At T4, I'm enabled to use FL so no chit needed. Even though I'm an AC member and not on an Intl flight, the ladies at SFO sometimes offer me a chit. Hit or miss. Lately though I've been handing out my Thank You for Excellent Service vouchers. Starting to use the January 2019 batch that has an expiration date on them first. Have several others that do not. Guess I've been hoarding them too long.. hehehehehehehe

Booked in J on a Sunday 6am LAX-JFK transcon flight. What are the chances we can eat breakfast at the LAX Flagship Lounge? I don't know what their buffet hours are. (not FFD)

Love this Lounge
Visited the LAX Flagship Lounge on Saturday morning about 10:30am. This lounge provides a fantastic experience. The high ceilings; views of the tarmac; some really nice wines right now (the Cabernet and the Pinot); and the food. At about 10:50am, the staff seamlessly segued into "lunch" mode, with beautiful pesto-covered whitefish; roasted cauliflower; Chinese-style green beans and eggplant; braised chicken thighs; California rolls; and the best oatmeal/cranberry cookie I've ever had in my life.
The best part? It's quiet and peaceful. Just for comparison, I walked across the lobby to the Admiral's Club.....ugh. About 90% full. Impossible to get away from people. The "Zen" moment I had in my head immediately evaporated.
I promptly headed back into the FL for another cookie.

I very much enjoyed the FL when I was there last month. Inside, it felt like a proper international airline club (such as LHR or NRT) with real food and a self-pour bar. The floor to ceiling views of the tarmac were nice, I watched "my" Dreamliner pull up to the gate. I even liked that they had those Coca-Cola mix fountains, although the one nearer the door was out of most flavorings at 9:30am.
The lounge made an announcement that our flight was ready a few minutes after my app notified me, and when I got downstairs they were up to BG 7 already. Being BG1 we walked up the priority lane and were helped immediately. So the Flagship lounge is super convenient too!
I'd say that, time allowing it, I would prefer to spend my time in T4 even if I was flying Oneworld out of TBIT.

Just had dinner at the Flagship private dining room. It’s my first time at this lounge, but I’ve been to the QF F Lounge a bunch of tiimes, and I must say the AA private dining is better than QF F. Poke appetizer and bacon wrapped scallops were delicious, and the drinks are creative. I do find the QF F space more appealing for hanging out, but IMO access to the AA private dining room is the one redeeming feature of AA F over CX F, if one is trying to justify the choice. (And yes, as has been posted above, the Muzak is awful).
