I was able to receive the exact language of the company policy from American Airlines today via Twitter regarding PDB's. I was actually quite impressed they followed up with me regarding a conversation that started a few days ago. I also received a nice note from Hector Adler who I also reached out to who said that pre-departure services were discussed at great length at a meeting late last week. Let's hope things begin to improve and if not we continue to press the FA's to follow company policy.

@AmericanAir 08/18 AA123 ORG Limited #PDBServed
This allows all PDB service to be posted, good, bad, and otherwise. This should show AA that we feel this is a desired service. Maybe if someone gets energetic, a summary post could be done, maybe weekly?

Seems to me it depends on who at AA replies to your complaint. As of recent (this year), when I state I did not receive a PDB, they throw miles at me... 10K so far in 2017.
However, I did find this reply from Nov of 2016... Hell, who knows if it is/is not a requirement anymore.

Dear Mr. USAmerican:
"Thank you for contacting Customer Relations. On behalf of American Airlines, we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
I appreciate you sharing your concerns about aspects of your travel. Although, I understand being provided a pre-departure drink when flying first class is a pleasant advantage, this service is not manadates and our crew is not required to provide it".

And in the case of this particular flight, did you receive a hot towel right after takeoff as well, or only at the end of the flight?

2/19 GSO-MIA E75: Full PDB ^^
2/10 MIA-MCO 757: No PDB We did board through 1L but it was a 16F cabin, if they'd wanted to do one it would have been doable. Broke my streak of 6 PDBs in a row in 2017 too.

Sent a tweet to AA. We were then grounded for another hour, still no PDB.
In flight service wasn't much better. Crew was nice enough, but definitely not doing their job. They spent 85% of the time chatting with the F crew in the galley between J and F. Barely cleaned up after service. Empty glasses sat until they picked up the Bose headphones.
In flight I requested and was served, and although I understand that it was a "red eye" and most were sleeping but I had an open laptop and I was both an ear shot and visually close enough. Was never asked if I needed anything.
This is the worst service I had on this transcon flight. Oh well, my run of good service and good crews had to run out.
