View from the Wing today published an article discussing the particulars of AA Elites flying Alaska wanting good avail themselves of the premium seats. It’s complicated.

Hardly complicated for anyone who has experience as a Delta elite. That's what we do over there.

Except as an EXP this still has yet to actually work as it should. I’ve had a flight booked for over a week and it’s still charging me to select a Premium Economy seat, I had CS assign my seat. I’ve even bought an additional flight, inputted my AA number and still is requiring an additional charge. So for all intents and purposes, this isn’t actually how it currently works.

And my UG still does not process automatically, even with being in the designated upgrade window and EF showing lots of open U space, I've had to call in to get upgraded.

Pretty seamless experience booking a LAX-SFO hop on AS. My fare was a deep discount (not "X" class) so no up-front seats available for me quite yet. But AS's system recognized the 1W Sapphire status immediately.

Im guessing that I'm guaranteed at least 500 EQMs for this?

The minimum of 500 EQMs is applied before the EQM multiplier. If your fare is in O or G class, you will earn 250 EQMs for this flight.

I'm curious to know how many EQDs are posted i.e. multiplier applied to actual distance or to a minimum segment length (250/500/whatever).

How many companions are allowed for EXP? I think we get up to 7 companions on AA, so I'm hoping our family of six might be able to go in premium economy.

I’m 90% sure that AS treats Premium as an upgrade (so only one companion) rather than preferred seating (lots of companions) for their own elites. Would be shocking if they were more generous than that for partner elites.

Just to clarify, it isn't a true premium economy product... expect a 3x3 configuration and just a bit more leg room.

Anyone dared to attempt crediting a Skywest-operated AS flight to AA lately?

Just got hit with a bunch of AS schedule changes and would like to know if I still need to avoid these when rebooking.

The minimum is for EQM only. Actual distance is used for EQD and RDM.

Correct, it's equivalent to MCE with better legroom, boarding position and free alcohol when available.
