Flying international F into JFK. Then F to LAX and up to Northern CA from there. Seems FFD and flagship are gone. Any special treatment or just the same mediocre ground and air offerings. I usually do DL and UA J. GRU or Europe to NYC. Then a premium transcon. Trying to see if F will be a bit better as the latter has been disappointed lately.

Pre-COVID, there would be better special treatment. But currently, the Flagship Lounge is closed, so your special treatment will be American Airlines's best lounge that is open: the Admirals Club - access in JFK and LAX.

Sorry but you will disappointed. Out of curiosity, from where are you flying to JFK?

...pAAthetic indeed when the competition at LAX (Centurion Lounge, Alaska Lounge, UA Club) all provide more substantive offerings.
Other than oatmeal and cup-o-noodles (either self service or on demand from the bartender), that looks like same offering as UA Clubs.

Bonus - you get to sit in the former Flagship Lounge space in JFK, albeit with Admirals Club offerings.

Pretty much the same fare that I've seen at DCA and MIA and PHL.

Traffic must be up noticeably. I was there Thursday morning (4/1) to find that AA had opened up the entire Flagship Lounge (excluding FFD) as an extension of the regular Admirals Club.
Lots of great new seating room and spacing now. Though no change in food and/or bar offerings.
MIA has been using their FL as AC overflow for a few months now. Good to see traffic in other hubs as well

In fact, the Pre-COVID chits for premium drinks in the AC are gone. Want something nice, expect to pay for it.

From GRU, if you want a great F experience, there's always LX.

Ok I know the Flagship lounge is closed but with the new Flagship and Admirals lounge rules announced:

1. would transcon J and F still get Flagship lounge access at JFK or LAX, if/when it opens?
2. At JFK and LAX is the admirals club allowed in J/F on such route?

UC @ LAX has a decently better selection than that.

True, but availability also seemed to be hit and miss, despite of the better selections. But yes, should've caveated excluding LAX, but LAX UC has always been the outlier with better food selections, even before the pandemic. I do miss the Korean taco and noodles bar.

Yes to both. On departure and arrival.
