This is terrible news. They were incredible staff, often emailing eligible pax pre-flight encouraging them to stop in for a visit. I loved this lounge for the self-served and upgraded offerings. If this lounge does not reopen to pax this summer, AA will be the worst of the three majors because they wont have a lounge option at all. Cant even buy a day pass to enter the other carriers without a boarding pass.
I maintained my admiral's club membership in part to retain access to that lounge when flying in HA metal. When AA changed its policy to allow lounge access only when booked on a Oneworld carrier (or an AA marketed HA codeshare), I dropped my club membership. The employees at the lounge in HNL were worried others would do the same.

The lounge appears to be open for JAL customers, with the caveat: Lounge operation may suddenly vary by local situation

Looks like 5x week at the moment. I presume AA customers would politely be told to take a hike. However, the JL update was just posted yesterday, so perhaps AA is preparing to staff the club or at least transition it to an Admirals Club partner lounge soon. They certainly have the lift to warrant it.

This club is temporarily closed._______________________________
I suspect they will reopen/rejoin JL to co-run the club at some point given the volume of pax traffic.

Unfortunately club is still as temporarily closed on the locations drop down menu on aa.com. Given that JL has restaffed the club, one has to think AA is making plans to permit entry by AC customers soon (even if it's not going to be staffed by AA yet/ever). They are only serving snacks and soft drinks anyway right now.

The state of the LAX Admirals Club which is now combined with the Flagship is goddamn embarrassing. The only free beer is Coors Light, served in small plastic cups? If you want a real serving of beer or drink any other beer, you have to pay for it. All their for-purchase meals are sandwiches and salads. The free cold salad buffet are tiny little plastic boxes.
The Priority Pass lounges and Alaska Airlines Lounge are better than this.
People pay for this? This is an embarrassment.

I agree that the Alaska Lounges are better, but the LAX lounge has a waitlist sign out almost all the time now so even if you have access, you may not have access. I would rather deal with the lame food options at the AC over standing around for 30 minutes outside the Alaska Lounge watching my phone for my name to be called.
The soup and salad was more than sufficient (turkey sausage lasagna soup and mixed green salad with toppings).

Anyone heard anything about the SFO AC? Can’t believe it still closes at 3:30 pm.

I still believe most flights depart by 4pm except for the late night hub runs to DFW/ORD/LAX(CRJ)/JFK. SFO has still been way quiter than usual even as recently as a few weeks ago. I don't see AA expanding hours here so soon.
