By including pork in the meatballs, you’ve narrowed there audience. It would be a great addition but not a great substitution for many.
Offering more low carb options is great. Omnivore can be very healthy.

Too often the so called vegetarian friendly is nothing more than unhealthy carbs. Now if only they would make the in air offerings also more low carb friendly. The F snack basket only has almonds and like a half dozen empty carb choices of cookies and chips.

some sort of legune or edimari (not sure of the spelling) but hummus should not be a tinge of green color

Their RED PEPPER hummus is tasty though....Whatever they make it from. Presumably some red peppers in it.
For their breakfast I'd prefer to see some meats added rather than so many eggs and various nuts. Bring on the bacon!

"edamame", perhaps? Japanese "pop beans" as we called them when I was a kid. You pop the green pea-like bits out of their pod.

All of the hummus I've had from AA either in the lounges or inflight -- including this week -- has been made with a chick pea base. There is one variation -- the edamame -- which they have served periodically that can be made with either a mix of chick peas or just the soybeans, but most of the variations start with a traditional base and have other ingredients mixed in for flavor and color. Some of them are less conventional than others, but as much as AA serves hummus, personally I'm VERY grateful for the occasional variety.

It seems then I am unlucky every time I have been there.
The edamame is always there when I am.
But then again maybe having tired the hummus in UAE has tainted my taste
Its really good there, and even my wife who does not eat any bean type product other then Jelly beans love it

hummus, if made from chickpeas or edamame , are healthy carbs with low glycemic index and a good source of protein. Same with lentils. All carbs are not the same.

turkey meatballs are a healthy choice, beef and pork not so much.

You're not supposed to, except for coffee in the go cups. That said, if you grab a cookie on your way out the door, I doubt anyone would say anything.

And of course, it's TOTALLY frowned upon to pour your drink from the bar in a coffee go cup and take it out of the lounge.

LOL @ the to-go bar drink. Yea I have a lot of super early 5am flights and with those I get to the airport like right around boarding time because I have pre-check and security is like <60s so I'd like to just grab an apple or yogurt cup and throw it in my bag before my flight. Wasn't sure if the employees make a big fuss or that's normal behavior.

Shouldn’t be a concern. I’ve only seen employees challenge those who whip out Tupperware or large ziplock bags and begin to empty out the serving bowls. A yogurt and apple won’t cause anyone to bat an eye.

I usually take a banana and a yogurt. A newspaper as well. They get off pretty cheaply with me as I don't drink anything and don't find any of the post-breakfast food appealing.

Makes you think that the snack towers of sadness are there for a reason - to limit the dispensing rate for snack items.
