Basically all the TSA computer cares about is whether you're on the passenger manifest and if your flight has departed. As long as the first part is true and the second part isn't you should be fine. I've gone in and out more than once (sometimes on the same day) and had no issues with the TSA.

No, there will be no issue with that. A few years ago, I had to leave the airside area to dash back to the airport hotel where I had forgotten to pick up a package mailed to me. I came back airside with the same BP.

AA at LAX does not have any limits regarding how early you can check the bags on the day. You can drop yours and then leave the airport. I'd probably check the bags in the general check-in area (there is a Priority line as well) to avoid questions why you're not continuing to security at the Flagship check-in (not that I think it'll be an issue).

The flagship agents might question it, but no, I've used the same boarding pass twice through TSA when the flight was delayed so was put up in a hotel.

Thanks everyone. We'll give it a go if QF don't check all the way through. Will have visits to MIA Flagship and JFK Premium on this visit as well and will include in a mini-trip report.

Advice appreciated re: JFK First check in area in T8 - we are OWE departing on AA1 in flagship business (0700) and will have arrived late ish the preceding evening. We wondered whether we can recheck our bags the night before our early AM flight or not? Also wondering how late we can leave it arriving to get through check in/security - would like to maximise sleep for the kids. Thanks in advance

I don’t think AA allows you to check bags the night before. That is based on experience (not at JFK, however), and also this thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35645368-post3.html

Flagship First Check-in on a flight with layover

I'm flying flagship first LAX to JFk that has a layover in SFO. AA marketed the flight as Flagship available. Will I be able to access the Flagship first check in at LAX? I appreciate the curbside help with the bags and the escort to security. I always pack too heavy of bags for New York.😊
THank you for any guidance. Also is the Admirals Club any good at SFO?

I'm confused what you mean by just "marketed as flagship available" - if you are in Flagship First for the 321T portion then yes, although you won't be on the list that they have printed to reference. Just tell them that you're flying flagship first to JFK (skip the SFO part) and they'll let you through.
It depends. It's on the larger side for the usage, so is always quiet, but it's still an AC not an FL, so doesn't have the wider variety of food options (quality and desirability depends on your tongue). When I was there at the end of March they had bbq pulled chicken sliders with toppings, as well as 2 soups (one was broccoli cheddar and was good, I don't remember the other one).

Thank you. When I check for flights it says flagship available. It says flagship first when I clicked on the flight. So I will pull up to the check in door. Also thank you for the insight at SFO.

Hello everybody I’m travelling business class from Cancun to JFK and on to London with BA in First. I know I need to clear immigration, reclaim bags and recheck and go through transfer security, is there any priority transfer security for First or is it best to go out through arrivals and back through Flagship First to drop bags and clear security, arrival will be around 8pm on a Saturday evening with 3.5 hrs to the BA flight to London all on one ticket.

At JFK T8 there is not a separate transfer security area. Everyone arriving internationally must go through the usual arrivals process, and anyone connecting has to go back upstairs after customs/immigration and through the regular security lines, no different than if you were originating in JFK.

Definitely drop your bags off at the re-check belt just after you exit customs. There is no reason to lug them upstairs just to drop them off in the Flagship check in area.

At that time of night I doubt there will be much of a line at security, but you can always eyeball it once you get upstairs. If there does happen to be lines then just walk back around through Flagship Check-In and get them to escort you to the front, everything is close by together there and you have plenty of time.

I'm flying JFK-HEL next week - AA marketed, AY operated. As an EXP, can I use the Flagship Check-In area at JFK, or do I need to use the AY counters and then go to the standard security line?

First, I don’t think you can check in for AY flights at all at Flagship Check-In. I believe it is AA / BA only. And AA EXP’s can use it regardless of class of service if flying on an AA flight.

This is correct, even within flagship check in you have to speak with the agent who is working for AA or BA depending on who is operating your flight. There are no AY staff in the check in or lounge as it is just a joint AA/BA fare.

AA offers Flagship check in for any OWE. And not just at JFK, I use it all the time at LAX and MIA.
