Did something else go awry with your travel plans? I thought all y'all made EXP yesterday.

[QUOTE=AAaLot;10945144]AA canceled our flight needed for EXP qualification
My family was currently at 93796 points, and their end of year qualification point plan looked like this:
ORD-LHR on AA S inventory class 3945/2 = 1972 points
LHR-AMS on BA S inventory 230 = 125 (is this the minimum points? Or is it 62)
BRU-LHR on BA M inventory 217 = 125 points 218 per AA
LHR-ORD on AA M inventory 3945 points
ORD-TVC on AA M inventory 224 points
Total points 93796+1972+125+125+3945+500=100463
If ORD-TVC is only 224 and you have 100463, what's the problem?
Why use the term "claiming weather" for AA indicating this is weather related?
Wasn't it weather related? I thought it was pretty wintry in that area.

[QUOTE=Gandhi90s;10945472]Um, ok.... So they are within 500. In years past, this would have been close enough. If it doesn't happen this year, then I think could get it by calling AA.
I don't think it is going to be a problem, though I wonder how many EQM they have.

Of course, a two minute call to AA could have resolved this issue. In the end, it's what they do, not what we think they should do, that will govern this situation.

Unless it has changed recently, there seems to be a bug that works in your favour: it is reported here that BA flights earn a minimum of 500 EQP as well as EQM even in booking classes where the rules state a lower number...

Is it just my 'magination, or do things consistently happen to this OP that happen to no one else on this board?

I don't want to hijack my own trade, but UA for example flew this same route around the same time we were scheduled and even later.
Normally canceling a flight is not a big deal...people are scheduled on other airlines and AA maybe makes more money because of it. However, around holidays their 'predictive' software (people take other flights) does not work.
Nevertheless AA dropped the ball. They should have at least chartered a bus. I wonder what everyone else did on the flight...very inefficient.
We did count our exp chickens too early even though in theory AA will have the 99k exception.
I was really wondering about the BA points. It is quite confusing...that might also give us enough points.
I was also wondering if you have called or written about original routing credit. (I wrote already). It has been my experience that 5 passengers times any reasonable request sometimes 'looks' unreasonable.
Ps as far as waiting to fly after the 25th that is not possible since it begins to conflict with our next trip to South America . Plus I am not sure if santa stops in Chicago...my kids would not be happy.

Flight Needed for EXP - Cancelled out of ORD
Hello everyone ~ happy holidays!
In order to keep my EXP status, I had scheduled 2 mileage-run flights. One of those was scheduled for this past Saturday, ORD to BOS (and returning the same day).
The flight I was on cancelled. They moved me to standby for the next flilght. That flight wound up delayed 2 hours and 50 minutes, which would have made me miss the return flight home, stranding me in Boston for the night.
I called the EXP desk to ask what my options were for rebooking on Sunday. I was connected to a very nice woman who told me Sunday looked ugly on the east coast and recommended cancelling the flight all together and refunding the cost back to my credit card. I told her I needed the flight to maintain my EXP status. She asked if I had a few moments, and then placed me on hold.
When she came back to the line, she told me she sent an email to the customer service desk asking them to credit me the EQM(?) miles needed to maintain my status.
While I thought that was extremely nice of her to send the request in, I am not sure if customer service does this kind of thing. Has anybody else been credited "flown" miles for a flight they did not actually take? I have a flight on hold from ORD-DFW on 12/27 just in case they do not credit me the miles.
Thank you very much for any info you can give me ~ happy flying!
