Dick Clark

Wife and I sat behind Dick Clark and an unidentified older woman in '92 enroute to Miami for our honeymoon cruise. Nice guy. But I will say that he looked waaaaaaay older in person than on the tube. Sat next to a few Texas politicians from AUS-DFW. That is all.

I um, ... relieved myself ... in the stall next to him in the bathroom at Geoffrey's in Malibu a couple of years back. He looked old-as-dirt then, too, and of course is much shorter than he appears on TV (everybody is, which was a big surprise once moving to "Hollywood").

Johnny Thunder

On a mileage run from ORD-LAX, he was on my flight. Since he was way before my time, I did not know who he was but found out during boarding. He was seated in 5E, I believe, and a couple boarded but had different seats in FC - the wife was in 4F and the hubby in 6F. After they had seated, the guy in 6F offered to switch seats so they could be together. Since people were still boarding, Johnny told the wife it would be easier if she waited until boarding was complete before she switched seats.

As she waited, she started chatting to him about his destination and it turns out he was heading to Hawaii on a cruise ship. She was the excitable, talkative sort and asked more questions. That was when she found out he was a musician on the cruise ship. She asked if he ever did anything professional and he mentioned he was a member of The Drifters and she got all giddy. Yap, Yap, Yap.

He was a charming man, charming enough for a 75 yr old. Charming enough that when boarding was complete and her husband told her to come back and sit next to him, she said she did not want to and wanted to keep talking to Johnny.

Saw Maura last night on a flight from LAX to BOS.

I've also seen Lenny Clarke (Rescue Me) on a Delta flight and chatted with Derek Sanderson (for Boston Bruin) at a US Air counter earlier this year.

Wow -- I'm impressed! ^ Not the usual Hollywood/sports celebrity that we see in this forum.

I had to Google the name to find out she was a Nobel Peace Prize winner with an incredible background. I suspect there's an interesting story behind the reason you could recognize her.

Over the years I've seen in the airport/on my flight/ at the hotel:

Michael Jordan and Wizards' teammates- Houston at the Westin Galleria
Steve Martin
Sylvester Stallone
Dick Enberg
Dennis Connor
Tony Gwynn
Dennis Green (once with family, once alone)
Flava Flave (big clock around neck)
Paula Abdul
Little Richard
Richard Simmons
Al Sharpton
Mike Wallace

These are the people that I remember off the top of my head....
