In my opinion 31 isn't really that much leg room at all compared to MCE and is so incredibly close to the lav I wouldn't want to deal with it. 33B/J have a mile of leg room given two missing rows of seats in front of them.

I'm not 100% on this but I could have sworn that the product people on board showing off MCE said "the seats are actually wider too." Hard to tell now looking back at my photos but they certainly did look wider given how tight they are back in regular economy. Regardless, I think the MCE cabin is fantastic. If you ever do end up alone in economy go straight for 33B/J.

Looks like in MCE and the Main Cabin they have the seat numbers on the arm rest...does the middle seat have its seat number on both arm rests or just leave the arm rest at the window blank? How did they number them?

I wasn't paying attention, but my pictures indicate that the seat numbers are on the "aisle side" arm rest. So, the middle seat does have numbers on each arm rest and the arm rest by the window has no number....not sure how that works in the center section.

Or people could just fly on a CX 777 and experience this now and for the past year and a half.

They haven't done anything new here vs. catch up with their partners.

Inaugural Flight

Here is the new plane sitting at D23. The aerial plane pics were taken from Terminal D Admirals. The last shot is the events happening at the gate. They are setting up a dang buffet for these lucky ones..

It would be great if AA would put the new bird on a domestic filler run for more folks to try this out. The used to have the ORD-DFW and return flight to fill the time before their widebody would head overseas.

Awesome photos! Can't wait to see more of them.

No chance of there being no-touch faucets in cattle class is there?

I hope these don't come to JFK-EZE for awhile because I am not ready for 3-4-3 seating yet.

Short runs are for pilot qualifications/training and to shake bugs off on handling a new aircraft type in the fleet. The 77W is similar enough to the 777 not to need them.

More PR candy (sorry for the formatting):

Boeing 777-300ER
Fact Sheet
Overview
This year, American Airlines takes the next step in its plan to create the industry’s most modern, fuel efficient
fleet with the introduction of the Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) aircraft. American is the
first U.S. airline to order and take delivery of the Boeing 777-300ER, which will depart on its inaugural
flight between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International
Airport (GRU) on Jan. 31, 2013.
American plans to take delivery of 15 state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER aircraft through 2014. The 777-
300ER will complement American’s fleet by offering additional network flexibility and providing increased
efficiency due to better seat-mile economics and performance characteristics.
777-300ER Quick Facts
• The state-of-the-art aircraft is painted with American’s new livery, featuring a clean look with silver
mica paint to reflect the silver heritage of American’s aircraft, and stripes flying proudly on the tail as
symbol of American’s origin and name.
• The work to modernize American’s look and airline began in earnest almost two years ago when
American place the largest aircraft order in its history. Since then, American has been building
anticipation for a time when the outside of its aircraft reflects the progress it has made on the inside.
• In addition to the Dallas/Fort Worth – Sao Paulo route, the 777-300ER aircraft is slated to fly to
London Heathrow from both Dallas/Fort Worth and New York JFK.
• The Boeing 777-300ER is configured with three classes, featuring fully lie-flat seats in First and
Business Class – all with direct aisle access. This aircraft provides American with more passenger
and cargo capacity than any other aircraft in its fleet today.
• Upon boarding, customers are invited inside through a dramatic archway and ceiling treatment,
complete with mood lighting. American is the first carrier to use this distinctive treatment on the 777-
300ER to create a feeling of spaciousness.
• The aircraft features a walk-up bar in the premium cabin stocked with a selection of snacks,
sandwiches and assorted sweets – a first for any U.S. airline.
• Every seat onboard the 777-300ER will have a personal seat-back entertainment option, including up
to 250 movies, more than 180 TV programs and more than 350 audio selections that are offered
throughout the aircraft. Additionally, every seat features individual 110-volt AC power outlets and USB
jacks for charging personal electronic devices.
• The 777-300ER will be the first aircraft in American’s fleet to offer international Wi-Fi, which will be
provided by Panasonic. To celebrate the new international Wi-Fi service, American will offer
complimentary inflight internet access through March on all flights operated with the new 777-300ER
aircraft.
• The 777-300ER will provide a host of new upgrades for First Class and Business Class customers,
offering an elevated international premium class experience. Product enhancements include new
china and flatware designs and industry-leading amenity kits. New elements also include increases in
customer choices with new menu selections and provide consistency in the premium experience
across all international fleet types. Enhancements have also been introduced on all international 777-
200ER, 767-300ER and 757 aircraft flying in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
First Class Cabin
Flagship Suite Seat: American’s First Class onboard the 777-300ER will have eight Flagship Suite seats
arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. Considered one of the most comfortable and popular First Class seats
in the industry, the 777-300 will feature an updated and enhanced version of the customer-favorite
Flagship Suite seat that transforms into a fully lie flat six-foot, eight-inch bed with drop-down armrests that
allow for easier access and more sleeping space. Each Flagship Suite provides direct aisle access and
allows customers to individually adjust any component of the seat for ultimate comfort. All suites feature
privacy dividers, two universal AC power outlets, one USB outlet, two large tray tables, a swivel seat and
many other comforts. The First Class cabin will use updated interior trim and finishes to achieve a
comfortable, modern feel throughout the cabin.
Entertainment: A 17-inch touchscreen monitor will offer up to 250 movies, more than 180 TV programs
and more than 350 audio selections, and a touchscreen video handset will serve as a remote that allows
customers to easily select programming without touching the monitor and watch additional video
programs, such as the moving map, while viewing the 17-inch monitor. First Class customers will also be
offered BoseŽ QuietComfortŽ 15 Acoustic Noise CancellingŽ headsets.
Power Source: All suites will feature two universal AC power outlets and one USB outlet.
Inflight Amenities: Upon boarding, First Class customers will receive a welcome aboard card and an
amenity kit, stocked with DermalogicaŽ skincare products, that doubles as a tablet case. In addition,
customers will enjoy upgraded closed-toe slippers, an additional pillow, and the choice of a specialty
mimosa.
While inflight, First Class customers can choose from new menu selections that will be served on
updated, more modern china along with new flatware and upgraded linens. In addition, First Class
customers will receive other specially designed items including a textured placemat, napkin ring, accent
water glass and an amuse-bouche, a bite-sized hors d’oeuvre.
Designed to resemble the personalized service provided in an upscale restaurant, First Class customers’
entrees and beverages will be hand-delivered upon request.
Food and beverage enhancements will include a variety of selections, including the introduction of a soup
option and a customizable pasta entrée – a first for an airline. First Class customers will also receive
American’s signature sundae with a featured sundae option, a breakfast card – similar to hotel room
service, increased bread options and a pre-landing sweet treat and spa water.
A wine sampling will be offered inflight for First Class customers, who will receive a tasting card to assist
in their selections for the remainder of the flight. All offerings will be specially chosen for the flight by
American’s wine consultant, Ken Chase.
Business Class Cabin
Fully Lie-Flat Seats: American’s Business Class onboard the 777-300ER will have 52 seats arranged in
a 1-2-1 configuration. The Business Class cabin will be outfitted with fully lie-flat seats – all with direct
aisle access. The fully lie-flat seat has three motors that offer extensive flexibility and comfort. Customers
can individually adjust any component of the seat, including the seat back, headrest and leg rest. The
seats feature a large tray table in addition to a work surface. Each seat offers a water bottle holder and
headset stowage – as Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headsets will be offered inflight.
Entertainment: Up to 250 movies, more than 180 TV programs and more than 350 audio selections will
be available on a 15.4-inch touchscreen monitor positioned in each Business Class suite and a premium
handset will serve as a remote that will allow customers to easily select programming without touching the
monitor.
Power Source: Each Business Class seat features individual 110-volt AC power outlets and USB jacks
for charging personal electronic devices.
Inflight Amenities: Upon boarding, Business Class customers will receive new closed-toe slippers and
an amenity kit with AkhassaŽ cosmetics.
While inflight, Business Class customers can choose from new menu selections that will be served on
updated, more modern china along with new flatware and upgraded linens. Business Class customers will
also enjoy a customized sundae from American’s popular dessert cart.
Main Cabin
Comfortable Seats: The Main Cabin will be outfitted with 30 Main Cabin Extra seats in a 3-3-3
configuration and 220 Main Cabin seats arranged in a 3-4-3 configuration. Seats throughout the Main
Cabin have a higher recline pivot, providing increased knee room. The seat bottom articulates, producing
an innovative cradling motion to better distribute weight while increasing the recline angle of the seatback,
resulting in overall customer comfort while protecting the personal space for customers in the following
row.
Main Cabin Extra: American’s premium seat product, which includes additional legroom for seats in the
forward portion of the cabin, allows for greater personal space and convenient access when boarding and
deplaning.
Entertainment: Each Main Cabin seat holds a 9-inch touchscreen Panasonic Eco Monitor, specially
designed for the Main Cabin for inflight entertainment including up to 250 movies, more than 180 TV
programs and more than 350 audio selections. The Panasonic Eco Monitor is lighter weight and more
energy efficient than most standard monitors.
Power Source: Selected seats throughout Main Cabin feature individual 110-volt AC power outlets and
USB jacks for charging personal electronic devices.
Inflight Amenities: When flying internationally, Main Cabin customers can sip complimentary beer and
wine offerings.

No reason to poop all over AA for this. It's not like NGBC, which was obsolete before it even launched.

And FWIW that J probably bests anything currently in the OW lineup besides CX and perhaps the JL Sky Bed (just based on pictures, no experience). Looks better than J on BA, QF, AB (current), IB, RJ or LA. The QF F suite on the 380 and the CX F seat are probably better, but the hard product Flagship Suite is still competitive among most major airlines but just needed a revamp and bigger TV.

Same structure, new finish. The seat still has that annoying headrest that I have a feeling will makes it hard to sleep...

I didn't read that ricktoronto was pooping on AA, just on all the swooning on this thread as if this interior was ground-braking (which, as he pointed out, it isn't).
