Requalified last night for MVPG with OAK-SEA (with a last minute upgrade to F ) for a current total of 40,046 AS miles
AS flights booked for the rest of that year only total ~6100 miles, so little likelihood of reaching 75K
Otoh, if anyone has any great ideas for (U.S. domestic) itineraries in early December that would net ~29,000 EQM I have a $~500 in MyWallet that is looking for a use

Finally pushed over 50k AS + Partners. I was 48 miles short but squeezed in a short partner flight to push me over
I'm way too far away from 75k to even waste my time
Less than 15k on AS metal and 44k to go with partners.

Just cleared 50k this weekend with AS & partners, another year of Gold
While not quite as partner heavy as CDKing, I've only got 32k on AS and the rest on partners... so I'd still be looking at 40k more miles for 75k... which is out of reach for me this year.

45,315 all on AS. After spending 4 years as MVP a SEA-LIH flight a week and a half ago pushed me over the MVPG threshold. The miles from flight posted on landing in LIH and my status showed as gold by the next morning, which is what I was hoping for as our return flights were only 5 days later. The new status paid off in style for our return LIH-SEA leg: After taking our seats in 17A&B and getting settled in a FA came down the aisle and asked if we’d like to move up to first class. For a red-eye out of Hawaii? Heck yea! I still didn’t get any sleep but my wife (MVP) thankfully did manage a few hours of sleepishness. And in case anyone's been wondering, the only thing better than getting upgraded before boarding is getting upgraded after boarding.
After a busy April and May I knew I was going to end up in the high 30’s for the year. I decided I wanted Gold bad enough for 2020 that I did a couple of MR transcons out of SFO back in September (SFO-JFK-SFO and SFO-BOS-SFO) to make sure I got there. The mid-$200 r/t fares and the double-miles promo made it a pretty easy choice for me. It ended up being right after the start of the SFO runway closure fiasco but all of my flights went off without a hitch and I even lucked out on some of the segments with an open middle seat next to me in row 17. I've done MR type trips before to get status (back on AA when they were still worth flying) but I always built them into mini-trips. I had so much fun just flying with nowhere to actually be that I think I'm going to do it again next year, even without the mileage promo. I'm an ex airline guy and the "flights to nowhere" took me back to my early days of employment/benefits when on off days I, and a bit later my wife and I, would just jump on a plane and fly across the country to go somewhere, anywhere, for a few hours. Back then we couldn't really afford to stay overnight very much so we'd just fly in for a day and do what we could in 6-12 hours.
I'll happily take those upgrades to F of course, but mostly I want gold for the change flexibility and the potential to take a non-status companion along on upgrades (even just to premium). Oh, and then there's that chocolate bar people keep talking about...
(Apologies for the rambling, maybe I'll change my handle to Long Winded Side of Life)
