December 3, 2015 Alaska announced a reconfiguration of its fleet.

AS will often load a seat map different than the scheduled equipment type. Once it gets closer in and they are more sure on sales they either change equipment to smaller plane and or lock it in as a 900. Between now and then many planes can be reconfigured and even if your seats is not one of the Y+ seats, later it may become one. Or as stated by dayone, 737-400 will be the aircraft type to actually serve the flight. This way less will be inconvenienced by a change in equipment.

That must be it, I know it wont be a 400, not enough range. I did the there are some 700's but the one I was looking at was listed as an 800. It will be good in another year when this isnt such a mess.

Looks like I'll have my first ride on the 73H Thursday to EWR. Are the F seats new or just old seats in a different order?

The morning 737 flight from PDX-SEA is selling premium economy for $15 which I assume is as low as it goes....do they even have time to serve a free beverage and snack box??

Same Recaro seats from the recent cabin refresh (not that old!), differently spaced.

Nope - $15 is for pre-boarding and more legroom. No full beverage service on this flight and no snack boxes.

I was on AS 793 tonight - DTW-SEA. It was in GSO earlier in the day after getting overhauled: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/A...655Z/KGSO/KDTW

We were delayed 45 minutes due to catering issues with this aircraft. Evidently the ground crew in DTW didn't get the memo that they needed to transfer the carts from the incoming aircraft from AS792, which ended up headed to GSO (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/A...110Z/KDTW/KGSO).

They initially didn't cater anything at all, and the lavatories didn't have any supplies. Then they catered the aircraft with NK carts (yes, Spirit Airlines... almost wish I could have gotten a picture in F with one of their napkins). Then they took those off and finally understood what they had to do.

The FA's handled it like champs. They ended up pouring us champagne as a PDB in F. Great crew.

Despite the crew handling it very well... AS should have this down by now.

Third-party catering company dropped the ball. I'm sure AS gave them the proper instructions and tne catering workers simply ignored them or perhaps didn't understand. Since it caused a serious delay, you can bet that the DTW station manager is following up on it.
