Heard this from an MVPG as well.
Sounds like the upgrade processor is broken again.
In the past even an MVP could click the link and skip the queue. Or someone w/o status could pay for an upgrade. Not a good development IMO.

G75K, but somehow didnt request UG (used Gold guest for Fll-sea), noticed 4 days out & was still in exit row. Fixed with a call.
Manually cleared by agent at 50 hour mark.
called in last night (day prior) as I saw U space, agent didnt want to clear me "trust the system", had asked if she can at least tell me my sequence.. few minutes later she came back and said Im next on list so she will go ahead and clear me.
While I appreciate her "doing me a favor", Im curious how long that U space had been open. Not sure I wanna pull a DYKWIA card, but for a traveler taking a HARD look at jumping to Delta, I do *NOT* trust the system and hope Alaska "fixes" it or at least communicates to us proper expectations.

I am 16 out of 19 so far this year. This is SO much better than my success rate as a 1K over at United.

2/9/15 LAS-SEA AS 601 75K Upgrade cleared at T-120 hours
For some reason my companion on another PNR who was waitlisted with me didn't clear even though I'm the only PAX in F and it's U7...
Still waiting for an upgrade for the outbound on 2/6, but don't have high hopes since it's F4 and this ticket was purchased around a month ago..

2/4/2014 sea-phl 32 MVPG cleared after boarding, GA came in to pull me out of Y.
--surprised I cleared since I was 4th/10 with 3 seats remaining. I'm guessing there was a no-show...win for me!
2/4/2014 phl-sea MVPG cleared sometime between T72 and T48.
--I was more concerned about this one clearing since the return flight was 6-hours long.

I think you got my seat on SEA-PHL. I had to cancel at the last minute.
