To try to make sense of what's all happening between AS and DL, the idea arose during the recent Alaska do to create a compendium in the wiki of the various stages of the current spat. Please add your knowledge where you can!

Im one of those Juneauite Alaska MVPG 75s that defected to Delta. I flew Delta so often that I lost my Gold status with Marriott since I didnt have to overnight in Seattle anymore.

With ASA 60, you simply cant get east of the Mississippi same day. You miss the 10amish departures to the AA and DL hubs, so its a one shot connection to almost anywhere, which means a VERY long travel day. At least on Delta i could land before 8pm almost anywhere.

The only other good thing was when Alaska ran the ANC-ORD redeye... i could then travel same day from Juneau and hop AA from Ord.

But, alas I no longer live in Juneau...

As I pointed out back when you first claimed this to be the case, you can get to ORD, DFW, ATL, SLC and onward from those places. You can't get to every single city they serve from those hubs but you can get to those hubs and there are onward connections from those places. You refuse to acknowledge that but the flights exist. As do the Alaska flights to ORD, DFW, DCA, EWR and ATL. They might not be able to get YOU to where YOU need to go but you can most certainly get to a variety of places east of the Mississippi. I'd also like to see where you can connect from JNU to cities beyond the hubs you're speaking of and land before 8p. Most connections I'm seeing are not getting to the east coast anywhere near 8pm

I frankly think that DL's "adventure" into the regions of Alaska was a knee jerk decision made mostly out of spite towards AS. Or " we'll show you" Now we all know operating consistently in that type of environment takes a lot of dedication, hard work and training. And the key word is consistent which DL has never really been known for. I can tell you from my AF days when we flew into Alaska we couldn't wait to get out, other than summer trips. It was hard on us and our birds, the local crews where use to it.

I think you will see DL stay the course on the low lying fruit and abandon the more difficult, costly and time consuming location's.

Just saying

AA + AS =a much bigger airline than DL so Dl may be cutting off its own nose. Frankly, I thought that the new regime at DL would want to revisit their "war" with AS. Hubris has driven this whole episode IMHO.

I hope the Partnership with American doesn't cease. TPAC / TATL options for earning will suffer for MP members if that comes to pass. We need a strong US flagged partner carrier. I would however welcome a change back to the way things were with Delta if that meant losing AA.

Still works for me. Annoying page though, kept spontaneously reloading in chrome on Android.
