I'm flying from Auckland to Dunedin to see my son at Uni as soon as we hit Level 2, already missed two trips there since all this started.
And I'm going to book a trip to the Chatham Islands as soon as they open up the schedules to use the credit I've got from Air Chathams from when I was flying with them to Norfolk Island that was cancelled for late June.

Domestic flights are being re-timed all over the place today. I have had flights in 10 days time auto-cancel by AirNZ even when there were same day options at a different time. Not possible to fix anything on line and have to waste the call centre's time to retime bookings. One of which they have re-booked me on to a flight that already no longer exists.
Will leave it all now, for a couple of days, to see where flight times actually settle to.

I appears Air NZ is cancelling "cheap" booked fares even though there are flights that match bookings etc. You will have to rebook at a higher cost to travel on those dates if you want to.

I'm in a similar position. My flights have auto-cancelled today despite flights being available in the booking system as of yesterday (they weren't there last week). I am more unhappy that they are more than double the fares I paid initially. I am expecting to be hit with some high fare difference charges.

All of those $9 fares they offered in the weeks pre-lock down? I do wonder how they are planning to handle all of though $69 fares they sold to Australia (for sure you wont be able to re-book at that price).

Looks like NZ has just released its level 2 domestic schedule for level 2.

Stuff 17:16, May 08 202 Air New Zealand cancelling domestic flights booked for May, June
Cancelling, instead of moving pax to another flight with similar/close time, and then expecting passenger to pay more for the same, seems to be corporate pricing gouging
Customers receive an "automatic credit" for their fares, meaning they will have to pay any cost difference when they come to rebook. Some customers have said that will leave them out of pocket because of the increase in future fares compared to the bargain prices some paid when they booked.
Air New Zealand will restart services to Taupo, Hokitika and Timaru as demand allows.
Customers who no longer needed their bookings were encourage to cancel to free seats for those who needed to fly.
Wellington resident Sharron Pardoe, who works for Stuff, said she was disappointed to find a trip she had planned to Queenstown in June for her husband's birthday had been cancelled.

My app shows WLG-DUD-WLG in late June as unchanged, yet a quick look at making a dummy booking shows only 1 or 2 flights and nothing like the flights I'm booked on. Expecting my seat-only journey to be cancelled.
Of course, I'd expect a full refund if NZ is unable to meet its obligations.....
