Over the last 7 years as Plat member, i got upgraded a couple of times:
- first of all, for all domestic NW flights i got upgrade into first class with no problem. Did not have even have to ask for it.
- upgrade from Y to C on a trip to Istanbul (ticket paid by company). My wife who was on an award ticket in economy also got upgraded when i spoke to the purser that we would be split
- upgrade from Y to C from AMS to NYC because of a full flight
- upgrade from C to F from SIN to CDG which was a very nice surprise ^
For the record, these are upgrades done by the airline. I also use my miles for upgrades which only has a 50% success rate though.

Oh yes, i went back from HKG a few weeks ago and i was booked in Z and got op-uped to F. Unfortunately first was not very superior to C when it came to service, food and wine but i slept well.
In april both me and my girlfriend (who´s silver) got op-uped on both legs between AMS-CPT
Then i got op-uped from Y to C on both legs Sto-Lax for my holiday trip in july
Then quite often within Europe i get op-uped into Europe Select or Affaires but who cares, the difference is close to zero, however for morning flights between STO-AMS, KLM at least serve a warm breakfast and fresh orange juice.

Recently got an OP-UP on LHR-CDG. Was seated Tempo 14 D but the machine beeped and was subsequently given 10D (the giddy comfort height of -Voyageur Posh,or whatever they call it).Anyway didnt last long as 10D was then taken away and i was given another boarding card : 19D .haha...maybe i wasn't grateful enough(hard to show enthusiam when you got a mouth stuffed full of lounge peanuts).

Upgraded last month on an award eco ticket from JNB to CDG.
Knowing that eco was full, I asked for an upgrade at biz check-in counter (I am Plat) and the man says, but you are already in biz! I did not ask for a First upgrade...
1st upgrade since Frequence Plus Rouge, on a long haul flight.

Was upgraded on my first long haul flight as Gold on CDG-ICN.
This was on a Saturday and the plane was pretty packed what I could see.
Upgrade stats as Gold: 33.33% (2 of 6 segments flown in 09)
Upgrade stats as Ivory: 0.00% (0 of 30 segments flown in 09)
Upgrade stats total: 5.55% (2 of 36 segments flown in 09)

I normally travel on the cheapest fare possible and I've been upgraded with Delta/Northwest 4-5 times both international and domestic. Never flew Air France that often but out of the 2 trips I made I was upgraded once.
