Very nice! Is plat the highest FB status or is there also something above, like DL diamond?

Platinum is the highest public status.
There is Club 2000 also, but granted on different criteria not linked to the travel frequency.
It is supposed to grant the same privileges as Platinum, but in reality, upgrades are much more frequent with Club 2000.

That's great!!! A lovely present, and I'm sure well-deserved. A nice way to end the year.

Double successive upgrade ^
You are giving me hope, my friend !

I am now sitting in DXB AF lounge : already upgraded from Economy to Premium Economy as per the website and we are 3 hours from boarding call.

Crossing fingers that very little no-show rate will push me upfront !

After last summer's double upgrade from Y to J with a classic award, maybe I will refactor-in the AF upgrade policy into my flight selection.

Keep the good work AF and I will return. Increased upgrade ratio definitely spices the experience up !

Edit : finally no double upgrade for me this time, just a single one.

Indeed (not counting onboard staff upgrades) but in practice, it is not entirely club 2000 related but goes a lot with file notes. I know some C2000 people who do not seem to enjoy that many upgrades. On the other hand some other ones with top 10 positions in two of the most prominent French companies seem to get unlimited space available upgrades for their entire family, who do not have any card (well I guess, those C2000 holders don't need it for themselves!)

Early Christmas...

I have always been very fortunate with upgrades, but yesterday was a nice treat. Flying home to US from France for Christmas with a 19 month old we were upgraded from PE to Affaires. We were 3 and it is the ONLY time I have fully appreciated the 3 middle seats. The middle seat transformed into a crib!

This year I was once upgraded from PV -> Affaires on CDG-PVG (out of 6 flights, but 4 of them were under a travel agent). A380 has nicely wide seats, albeit not full-flat bed and the seat pitch could be a few inches more.

2014 Statistics

For want of something better to do (), I thought I'd post my AFKL upgrade statistics for 2014 (whole year). So, here you are (only for paid economy flights, all of which were in deep discount fare buckets) ...
AF short-haul: 1/6
KL short-haul: 4/40
KL long-haul: 2/4
All free op-ups - none purchased!

just got upgraded a few days ago from Y to C.

Nice surprise, although I regret to say a few days before my flight with AF I was on Aegean in their economy and very frankly, the economy service provided by Aegean in air was sooooo totally better than Air France in business. Both flights were a bit longer than 2h so you could compare. Really impressed with Aegean and disappointed with AF.

The year started very well for me: Upgraded from J to P on my second flight segment this year, AF 459 GRU-CDG. Free, no buy-up.
Many thanks AF!

Welcome to FlyerTalk mebe09, thanks for sharing your experience even if it is a little negative—worse than mine! (1 upgrade on KLM)

Please do stick around, we all enjoy complaining about AF/KLM.
