I just flew the outbound of that Alitalia Business Class deal from Brussels to Valencia via Rome. I really enjoyed it and thought the service was outstanding. Nice meal service (if I can work out how to do it from the phone I'll post some meal shots over in the Alitalia forum), with good wines including a Barbera d'Asti.

Wow, that really worked. I'm pleased about that! You can see that business class is pretty much the same as economy, except for a small tray table occupying the middle seat. Here's a couple shots of the very snowy Austrian and Italian Alps.

And here is a link to the thread in the Alitalia forum which discusses service in European business class:

Just one question: how do I find the booking subclass for this Valencia ticket? I recollect seeing it was in I-class .. i think .. but I can't remember where. Saudia isn't showing it and nor is Alitalia.

If bought directly via Alitalia website, it should be written in the enclosed files of the receipt email they sent you after booking.

Standard business (i.e. non-flexible) books into I.

Are you kidding? I paid around €304 for it!! Wouldn't be a mileage run otherwise. Any of you making it down to Valencia should check out the food scene here. And the drink scene!

Did you get to any of the Ricard Camerena places? Had a lovely dinner at his main joint last November just before it got the second star. Fum de Llum was my favourite 'ordinary' restaurant.

There are several I class fares. The 982 EUR fare including tax is for purchase less than 2 days before departure, there is a 750 EUR fare with purchase 2+ days before departure and the 300 EUR fare for purchase 7+ days before departure.

Thanks for clarifying about the I-class fares. About the food scene, I've come to the conclusion that I'm a bit disappointed after a couple days here. Can't even get a really decent cup of coffee like in Italy, it's hit or miss, mostly miss. Down at the beach, the adjoining neighborhood is a bit run down and grim, there's not a lot there. But I did find a place (Bodega Pascuala) which did a huge Menu del Dia including 2 glasses ok wine, bread on the table and coffee for €8.95. Very basic cuisine, but good. They do huge boccadillos too!

Sorry, I didn't make it to Fum de Llum, just didn't have the time on my last day. I can highly recommend the Menu del Día at Refugio (€14, 3 courses, excellent) and Cinnamon (€15, 3 courses, outstanding).

I am derailing this thread and I apologize for that. I intend to create a separate thread for Flying Blue mileage and XP collection trips where we can share these ideas, so we can focus on mileage run deals in this thread.

I am doing a few of these trips so here some meal shots. Service is pretty basic (compacted to Aegean) and I see the same meals all the time.

That is brilliant. What is the last date that we can use the promotion code? What range of XPs would that yield? Would I be right in thinking 78?
