With only one plane being equipped that is not surprising.
BTW: Although AF seats are based on the Cirrus general design, they are quite different in many aspects, especially on the motoring aspect (only two moving cushions instead of three), so it is not surprising that they encounter teething problems that lead to delays.

Seeing this post concerns me -- has there been issues with the new cabin on # 9 and equip swaps?

That is not quite correct. If you want to fly the new J as Skyteam Elite and would like a solo window seat, you need to wait till OLCI and hope to get one then. It is most unlikely that 50% of the cabin will be Skyteam Elite Plus at the end and there is a good chance that you will be able to get one, but you cannot pre-assign them unless you are Elite Plus.
By the way, is there a dicussion for the best J seat ? Maybe the previous pages here.. ?

Has the launch of the BEST product to Dubai been postponed? I am looking at mid-February and it still shows an older seat map.

I did book a solo seat even when the award was on old for 3 days
I tickected last saturday and still had a solo seat
Just rechecked and it's "non disponible" so no seat selection at all available
So elite+ can have a solo seat
paid pax can have a seat (except if they pay a high fare bucket, money buy status)
and free pax can have... the large ottoman on the center section if available
Fingers crossed that CX will release an F seat (or even a J seat) so I'll gladly cancel this booking and pay 45 euros, first time that I'll be happy to give money to AF

Me and my OH have a HND-CDG on AF279 for early April. This was showing as the old business class 2-3-2 but has changed yesterday to 1-2-1.
I hope it won't revert back

My December 21st flight to HND is still showing old configuration. really annoyed. Oh well. There are only two seats left on the flight, considering the new config has fewer seats, I don't think they'd change to the new seats now even if they could! Disappointing indeed. Hope you guys have better luck! I have been checking pictures of NEV4 seats, the foot rest cubby seems quite nice, I hope it will feel very close to a fully flat bed with this addition. Flew LH J last year, the slope really was not very comfortable! I am kinda glad the AF Nev4 seats at least have the foot rest separate from the main chair.

Does anyone know if AF17 from JFK to Paris is the new business class seats or the old ones?
How does one check the seat configurations/assignments on AF flights?

Yesterday's luxury
Heard from the onboard personnel that the revamping is held back by capex delay. Not enough cashflow at the group level - so expect the old seats whereever you fly!

Sure bet
(It is also known as DL400 for the uninitiated). I have done exactly that for my christmas award tickets - no lost sleep whether thay will bait and switch my seat...
Completely beyond me why AF rejected the DL seats when they decided to go flat. I really like the DL seats and try to get on a DL flight whenever i fly to the other side of the pond (company has group contract with AF so cant fly UA too often).

In the last few weeks I have sampled LH new C, LX C, BA CW and the new AF BEST seat. In my opinion the new AF seat beats the others by a bit (LX) or a lot (BA and LH). If AF could manage to roll out the new seats quicker they would get more of my custom. As it is, groud experience as HON at FRA and ZRH still beats CDG, but having experienced a 30 min fast track queue at LHR as well, LHR T5 comes very very last in my preference.
The new BEST is just an excellent seat, wider than the competition, with more legroom than LH and BA and equal legroom to the better LX seats. Storage is as good as LX, better than LH and lots better than BA.
IFE for AF new C was the best of these four, where LX and BA come last. If I want to eat good food, I will go to a restaurant, but I had good food on LX and AF, mediocre food on LH and plain awful food on BA.
These flights were a small sample: a single AF flight, but for BA, LH and LX these were very representative of all the last years of flying.
Only negative of AF really was the very early arrival from HND: so early that CDG was still pretty much closed: passport control and extra security check required and 30 minutes waiting for the lounge to open and have a coffee.
No need to reopen the lack of Plat differentiation and lounges, but First lounges on LH group and BA are still lots better than the AF C lounge Plat gives access to.

What's going on with the new cabins on JFK-CDG route?
Hey there,
Curious if anyone has any insight on what's happening with the new cabins that were supposed to be flying AF8-9 and AF10-11 soon.
The new 777-200 has been showing quite consistently since this summer but is nowhere to be seen in the coming weeks.
The new 777-300 was supposed to start 12/22 and is not showing on EF.
Thanks!
