Accident: Jazz DH8A at Sault Ste Marie on Feb 24th 2015, touched down short of runway

A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-100, registration C-GTAI performing flight QK-7795 from Toronto,ON to Sault Ste Marie,ON (Canada), landed on Sault Ste. Marie's runway 30 but touched down about 500 feet short of the runway threshold, contacted and destroyed an ODALS light before coming to a stop. There were no injuries.

NAV Canada reported the aircraft clipped the landing gear on the approach lights and came to a stop on runway 30.

The Canadian TSB reported on Mar 2nd 2015, that the damage of the aircraft is being assessed, the occurrence has been rated an accident.

An Air Canada flight from Toronto to Winnipeg had a mechanical issue Wednesday evening and had to be towed, according to a spokesperson for the Winnipeg Airports Authority.

A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-100, registration C-GONX performing flight QK-7090 from Halifax,NS to Iles De La Madeleine,QC (Canada) with 4 people on board, was enroute about 80nm northeast of Halifax when the crew received a low oil pressure indication for the left hand engine (PW120A), shut the engine down and returned to Halifax for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported: "maintenance replaced a leaking #1 hydraulic pump accessory drive pad seal at reduction gearbox of the #1 engine".

An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FHLH performing flight AC-269 from Toronto,ON to Winnipeg,MB (Canada), was enroute at FL360 about 150nm east of Winnipeg when the crew declared emergency reporting manouverability issues advising they had issues with nose wheel steering and brakes. The aircraft continued to Winnipeg for a safe landing about 45 minutes later. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The Canadian TSB reported the crew received a "MAU 1A FAIL" EICAS message, the network interface controller in MAU 1 was replaced.

Incident: AC 787 on Mar 1st, possible nose wheel steering issue - declares PAN PAN.

Occurrence Type: Incident

An Air Canada Boeing 787-8 (C-GHPT) performing flight AC-85 from Tel-Aviv (TLV) to Toronto, ON was en route at FL400 when the crew declared a PAN PAN due to possible nose wheel steering issue. The flight crew received a Nose Wheel Steering Fault indication, the QRH procedures were followed and the crew requested Runway 15L. The crew performed an uneventful landing with ARFF standing by. After the landing the nose wheel steering operated normally and the aircraft continued to the gate.

An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190 registration C-FHKI, performing flight AC-721 from New York LaGuardia (LGA) to Toronto, ON (YYZ), reported experiencing wake turbulence from a preceding aircraft, an Air Canada rouge Boeing 767-333 registration C-FMWP performing flight ROU-1805 from Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ) to Toronto, ON (YYZ) 8.6 NM ahead, descending.

Incident: Georgian CRJ1 near Johnstown on Feb 27th 2015, smoke in cabin

An Air Georgian Canadair CRJ-100 on behalf of Air Canada, registration C-FWRT performing flight ZX-7326/AC-7316 from Raleigh/Durham,NC (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada), was enroute at FL310 about 40nm southeast of Johnstown,PA (USA) when cabin crew advised the cockpit of smoke originating from one of the cabin panels. The crew diverted to Johnstown for a safe landing about 25 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified moisture from condensation had caused an electrical short in the overhead wiring near seat row 7 at the right side of the aircraft.

A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-100, registration C-FABA performing flight QK-8739 from Bathurst,NB to Montreal,QC (Canada), was enroute near Mont Joli,QC (Canada) when the crew received indication of loss of torque and drop of InterTurbine Temperature (ITT) of the right hand engine (PW120A). The crew worked the related checklists, shut the engine down as a precaution and diverted to Mont Joli for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported engine found the P3 line, located between propeller governor an hydromechanical unit, broken. The line was replaced.

An Air Canada Boeing 767-300, registration C-FCAG performing flight AC-43 from Calgary,AB (Canada) to Kahului,HI (USA), was climbing out of Calgary when the crew experienced trouble with the right hand engine's (CF6) thrust lever and noticed fluctuations in the right hand cabin duct pressure. The crew decided to divert to Vancouver,BC (Canada) for a safe landing and maintenance action.

The Canadian TSB reported that maintenance replaced the strut area push/pull cable and the right engine's pressure shutoff valve.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration C-GEOQ reached Kahului with a delay of 5 hours.

An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FKCO performing flight AC-183 from Montreal,QC to Vancouver,BC (Canada), was enroute at FL340 about 240nm eastsoutheast of Calgary,AB (Canada) when both ECAM displays went blank. The crew declared PAN and diverted to Calgary for a safe landing about 50 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance identified the related circuit breaker 204XP had tripped. The circuit breaker was reset, the ECAM displays became operative again and the aircraft was released to continue the flight.

The occurrence aircraft departed again after about one hour on the ground and reached Vancouver with a delay of 80 minutes.
