I agree.

I found it extremely difficult working with people on the other side of the country -- and yet, by the time my work finished, I still hadn't met them face-to-face and wish that I had as most sounded like wonderful people.

(At least I have some open invitations for a visit.)

And indeed, a quick google shows that one of the main languages spoken in Lebanon is French.

Wait until you start looking at city names for China -- then you'll have a real headache.

Such as:
Beijing - Peking
Canton - Guangzhou

And then you have European cities, such as:
Warsaw - Varsovie

Photos from the DO are online...

Empress emailed me the photographs that were taken of the groups in front of the A330/A340 simulator. I have posted them here:

http://www.leecarney.com/YVRDO05.htm

The photographs I shot during the Maintenance Hanger tour are online now, too, but won't be posting the link here publically (per Brian's request). I will however, email the link to anyone who wants it. Please PM rather than filling up this thread with requests.

The "?" would be Argonaut1000, who flew the 340 SIM with Lornag, Brandrain, and I.

Did anyone ask about seat blocking?

Yes. Their current computer system is not capable of it. I don't think they gave a definitive "yes" that they would do it in the future, but I got the impression that they thought it was something worthwhile doing.

I opened the link and my computer screen cracked

YOWkid May 10, 2005 9:27 pm

How's that possible?... especially given that you constantly sit in front of the computer with only your thong on.

Heck, I think I'd crack and shatter if I saw it.

:p

Did anybody bring up the subject of our cards.... in particular the phone numbers on the back of them that are so tiny and impossible to read?

767300ER May 11, 2005 7:39 pm

Yes somebody mentionned that. They talked about supplying the information on another card but the idea was rejected because we already have zillions of cards. They got the message and hopefully their graphic designers will have to do a little bit better job in 2006.

They do seat blocking at LHR. Do they have a different system?
