Show up at SFO. There's no line (obviously...everyone on SFO-YVR was there hours ago, and SFO-YYZ isn't for another 3 or 4).

I walk up, and...
"Hello Mr. cow! Let me call Sue, she wanted to talk to you. Bob, can you call and let her know Mr. cow is here?"

So she checks me in, lets me know my connection (to the later, rebooked flight) is tight.

Sue shows up, and tells me that a concierge will meet me at the gate in YVR to give me a hotel voucher.

Then I head towards the A gates. At the last minute, I realize I need to go to G, so I turn around, and Sue's running towards me.

Like... how does anyone not see the value in SE status?

I agree concierge service is awesome and one of the reasons I've stuck with AC.

But just playing the devil's advocate: Couldn't you avoid much of the trouble by eliminating MRs (e.g. during EYW) and avoiding indirect routings?

EYW is fun. And I was E35K in v1. I survived. And I guess technically that's a "mileage run", but not in the same way something like SFO-IAH-DEN-EWR-IAH-LAX-SFO is.

Today's indirect routing is because of flight passes. I'm going SFO-YYC. It was $267 USD for last minute full flexible J. Even after I was at the airport I wasn't sure if I was going to go.

Find me that price on a non-stop with the same flexibility (and this was only booked a few days ago), and we'll talk about eliminating connections.

Believe it or not, I don't actually take connections when there's not a significant reason to. Usually it's to get a pod on 156. I flew UA SFO-YYC in December because I didn't want to wake up at 7am.

I guess my point is I can't always avoid connections. YOW-SFO is not uncommon for me. But concierges are generally awesome

Issues today with CDG-YYZ flight being delayed out of Paris which meant we were going to missconnect in YYZ. Upon deplaning we were greeted by a fantastic concierge, Anna, who did everything possible so we could catch our original flight but it was too tight (way too tight). We were already protected on the next flight and Vicky, a very efficient agent at the customer desk took care of the rest. Great team work! TY.

Thumbs up Thank you, Courtney!

Was booked on AC7336 this morning YYG to YYZ. Got flight notification that flight was cancelled and was transferred to afternoon flight, which doesn't work since I have meetings in YYZ at 11 AM.

Spoke with Courtney at the Concierge call centre, and she immediately rebooked me onto morning flight to YUL and on to YYZ, arriving at 9 AM. To quote the immortal Robert Carver, "A Small, Good Thing".

Thank you, Courtney, for being friendly, courteous and professional at 1:30 AM ADT, wherever you may be!

I really hope that the concierge folks either see this, or someone collects this stuff and gets it back to people.

A YYZ concierge was able to help me late Friday night. At 9pm I was on the phone booking a crazy Mini RTW itinerary, while simultaneously starting my 3 hour drive to YYZ. We couldn't check in via our phones and knew we would need paper boarding cards. He was hesitant at first, because the itinerary did not include AC until the final segment (months from now). Once I provided the Air Canada Aeroplan PNR # he went above and beyond, checking us in (on the 3rd party site) for our nonstop EVA to Taipei which departed shortly after midnight.

A few minutes after our phone call the 3hr online checkin expired; and we definitly did not make the 1-hour in person checkin. Re-reading the T&C's, we would have completely lost our 480,000 Aeroplan miles without his help (3 PAX flying J).

We got to the gate during boarding for a VERY fun filled 4.5-day trip: YYZ-TPE-SGN-SIN-KUL-BKK, BKK-PEK-BOS (on a flyertalk Hainan deal), then BOS-YYZ on AC.

shout out to the yeg concierge Akemi, for tracking another s/e down who took my bag home (exact colour teal, and brand) put it in a taxi and it arrived at my lodging within 1.5 hours of my own arrival. She sent an email to confirm delivery.

Lucky in DEL was fantastic. Helped me through immigration & security (jumped queues) and straight to SQ lounge. Kept me briefed at gate when flight was delayed. Awesome concierge & very grateful. ^

I have had to deal with concierges on 4 occasions to date in 2016. Weather issues/connections/mechanical and weather again.
In each instance, the concierge(s) and Air Canada were pro-active and made sure that I was looked after. ^

Thanks for that

Very helpful, knowledgable, polite, friendly, patient, I could go on and on, but suffusive to say, she's absolutely amazing.

Kudos to Concierge service, especially LGA!

Want to take the opportunity to give kudos and express my appreciation and gratitude to the LGA concierge team. Shirva and Carson and others often go beyond their duties to help me and my travel companions out, including a situation where UA screwed up a ticket PAX name that we're flying on AC metal. Very accommodating and a pleasure to work with as LGA is now my preferred travel hub even for TATL/TPAC routes!

YYZ concierge I've also had the pleasure to work with a few members who've been wonderful and being available when needed. Certainly the wheelchair services have improved since AC takes a more proactice role in escorting needed PAX from gate to exit of the terminal.

Bravo!

As seasoned F/F we usually know what may happen before the people are are actually in their profession know, which has always baffled me.

During the past 48 hours there has been delays out of LHR so i was trying to be proactive as we have tight connections in LHR & BRU.

When we arrived at the YYC MLL i asked the concierge if the concierge could meet us in LHR and have a back up plane for when we miss the connection. Cant do that as the system says it all on time.

Long story short, Dave met us at the Gate when we landed, super friendly and nice guy, escorted us through security, did some other stuff and we made of connection.

Dave thanks for your help, sorry guy ^

One in May I forgot to post.

Flying J MCO-YYZ-YYC with my mom, our nanny, 4 yo and 1 yo w/ car seat. Arrival into YYZ was quite delayed, pushing a 2:30 connection to 1. FA checked and said I'd be fine, but I asked her to have the pilots write back and request an escort given the group I had.

A great concierge met us at the gate, brought us through a priority lane at customs (nanny didn't have Nexus yet), cut the security line for us and we arrived at the gate when zone 5 was just about done.

On the way she had great chats with everyone of us, helped manage the kids / bags (keeping them busy post-WTMD while we got secondaries), and kept in constant contact with the gate to adjust our speed as required. Simply, she made what was going to be an awful transfer and potential misconnect into a pleasant, though busy, 45 minutes.

My mom was shocked at the level of service and kindness throughout. Her comment after was, "I now understand why you don't ever have problems when travelling."
