I had this one yesterday. It looks really bad but tastes yummy. It's basically a beef stew that they surprisingly don't overcook, so it comes out tender and flavorful.

Snack

Interesting to see that this one came with eggs and not pickles with a potato salad.

Never weighed in on this thread before, but I actually have something of note for once.

Flew J, this past Sunday from DEN-YVR, scheduled departure of 1300. I fell asleep when menus were originally handed out, so I didn't get to choose, but what I got given was actually pretty good. Didn't think to take a picture sorry. One choice was some kind of pasta, sounded pretty pedestrian, there's a good chance I would've picked that had I been given the chance.

What I got wasn't even what was on the menu. The flight attendant was sure to mention that. What was catered was some sort of like Southwest Chicken Mess. There was a cornbread muffin kinda thing, not my speed, I've never liked cornbread. But beyond that was grilled chicken chunks kind of thrown together in a mix of corn, black beans, and sort of a less wet pico de gallo, then some kind of a dark red sauce, not marinara, not salsa, but it was good. I was actually pretty pleased with it. Never seen it before, and to look at it on the plate, it wouldn't be the prettiest dish to look at, but I can definitely recommend it if presented to you as an option.

ive never seen this variant with the eggs before… it’s always been potato salad. was it on an e75 jazz ?

I fly atl-yyz and iah-yyz soon. Both are lunchtime flights and over 2 hours. Do they serve meals for the CRJ9 and E75 for transboarder flights? Is it still a cold meal for the CRJ? Thanks in advance.

Air Canada offers hot meals on both CRJ-700/900s and Embraer EMB 175/190s.
You can check the menu online
https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/...s-class.html#/
Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter the route or flight number.
or
through the app under "flight status"!
Just type in the route or flight number, you can see what the current menus is.

Air Canada changes it North American menus monthly!

Flew on AC-1882 (YUL-CUN, operated by Rouge) yesterday.

Catering was the frittata with red pepper relish and sausage, or pancakes.

I had the eggs, and was pleasantly surprised. It was actually quite good!

I ended up having the salad, roll, carrot cake.... and a smoked meat sandwich from Y.

I wasn't overly impressed with any of it, but it was nice to have a warm roll.

Of course, the SD had made some amazing Indian dish for himself, and the smell was very noticeable through my mask on a lav trip, so I was quite envious.

Time to go back to ordering Special Meals when the olive menu is published?

Given that I booked the flight within 24 hours of departure, I don't think that would have helped

Anyone seen the French toast in person yet? It's listed on my YVR-YWG on Friday.

YVR-YYZ today July 25. First time trying the french toast. It was OK, less sweet than the pancakes which I appreciated; doesn't replace the venerable omelette imo.
