Since this format seems to work well on other forums, for each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed (AQM):
Segments Needed (AQS):
Dollars Needed (AQD):
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (CHOOSE ONE, AND STATE THE VALUE):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:

  • For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
  • For Required Spend or Maximum Budget: DO NOT SAY "ANYTHING" OR "CHEAPEST" OR SIMILAR BECAUSE THAT IS NOT VERY HELPFUL - STATE THE DAMN VALUE PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP
  • If you need both AQD AND AQM or AQS, then please indicate both in their respective line item. Don't hide your second AQD/M/S requirement in some other line.
  • If you are based in YYZ or YVR, there can be many good fares to China (PEK or PVG) on Star Alliance partners. If you have a Chinese visa, include that in your request and these options will be provided.

Shooting for next level at 35K. I think it's more likely to get the 3,533 AQM than the 16 segments.

Departure Airport: YOW
Miles Needed (AQM): 3,533 (easiest way to reach next level)
Segments Needed (AQS): (N/A or16)
Dollars Needed (AQD): 0 (already met)
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): flexible, but prefer under $1000
Available Travel Dates: Last week of October, first week of November, weekends any time before Xmas, or longer between Xmas and NY
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: any
Route(s) You've Already Searched: YOW-YYZ-UVF?
This is what I found:

October 27, YOW-YYZ-YVR (AC469/AC103) in Flex (A), if you have eUps to burn this is a great opportunity. E190 then B77W.
October 29, YVR-YUL-YOW (AC314/AC8967) in Flex (A). B789 then Q400.

Total price: 808 CAD. 4700 miles. Premium Economy is 1600 CAD.

Looking to get to E35 and while a round trip flight from YVR to either YUL or YYZ would be easy, they are slightly under the AQM I need, and I don't want to do connecting flights if possible. Thanks in advance!

Departure Airport: YVR
Miles Needed (AQM): 5000
Segments Needed (AQS): 0
Dollars Needed (AQD): 0
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): As cheap as possible, definitely under $1000
Available Travel Dates: Most weekends are fine, can take one or two days on either side as well
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: AC only, no rouge, would prefer flights that have a good change of being able to use e-ups
Route(s) You've Already Searched: YVR-YYZ, YVR-YUL

Mexico City might be the answer...direct flight, easy to E-Up, and a really interesting city for a weekend getaway.

Nov 29 - AC996 16:55-00:15
Dec 1 - AC997 0625-10:35

$657 in Comfort, which nets just over 5,600 AQM. Plenty of availability all the way from now through mid December.

Also a decent value in J. About $1,200, nets just under 7,350 AQM.

There are Marriott and Hilton properties connected right to T1 in MEX which are handy for the ugly arrival and departure times. On the Saturday, take the Metro into Centro Historico (5 pesos each way!) and walk around.

You can also do this as an overnight turn (like Nov 23/24) if you are brave. Not as brutal as some MRs.

A question in using eUpgrades - does the new booking class count for mileage accumulation, or do you accumulate at the rate of the original class before upgrade?

If you bought Premium Economy, for e.g., and used eUpgrades to fly in J, you only earn AQM for the Premium Economy fare you bought, which includes the 25% class of services (COS).

eUpgrades do not change your earning.

Trying to figure out if going for E50K is worth it. Any tips on a short and cheap as possible flight from YVR to get me 9k miles?

Departure Airport: YVR
Miles Needed (AQM): 9000
Segments Needed (AQS): N/A
Dollars Needed (AQD): 0
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value): As cheap as possible preferred, willing to spend up to $1k maybe a bit more if the trip is convenient or to a good tourist destination
Available Travel Dates: Nov 9 - Dec 20, prefer weekends.
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay: Codeshares okay. Just need AQM only.
Route(s) You've Already Searched: Tried to look at YVR-TPE and some airports in China

I have never noticed a lot of places landside that would be comfortable to try and catch 40 winks overnight, and I don't think you would be let back airside until about 4:30AM. The Courtyard is pretty reasonably priced, and would be worth it to me for the 4 hours of shut eye. But, you could certainly hang out in the terminal all night, it would be totally safe.

I know it's a bit of a crazy routing, but...

Nov 18, YVR-PEK, AC029, B789. Economy (V) Flex (100%)
Nov 20, PEK-PVG, CA1883, A359, Economy (B) Standard (100%)
Nov 21, PVG-YVR, AC026, B789, Economy (L) Standard (50%)

Will get you a bit over 9000 miles.

CAD 915. Premium Economy is about 2000 CAD. Assuming you're E35K, you can't eUpgrade either direction, so you're probably going to end up in Y.

EDIT: You can return on the 22nd, AC030, B789, Econ Standard (L) for $995.
