Here is a related issue -

A relative has redeem coach YYZ-XXX-PEK-HKG-YYZ with the PEK-HKG on Air China. That is in June for traveling in October.

He could not pull up his Air China segment on Amadeus site nor the CheckMyTrip App.

I looked up some information about Air China issues, and that do not bode well if you could not see your segment with Air China PNR using Amadeus.

Any suggestions how he could go about to make sure Air China indeed has his reservation in their system? (yes I know the shenanigans Air China pulls).

I realize all these threads were started at different times for different reasons, but we seem to be at a point where I wonder if making this a Master Thread with a wiki that would include the links to threads like these:

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-...lo-awards.html

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-...-airlines.html

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-...-days-out.html

and so on

Given that one of those threads are mine, I'm going to voice my support in favor of the way the AA forum handles this, with one thread dedicated to booking awards for each partner (ie. Using Aeroplan to book LX master thread, Using Aeroplan to book NH master thread, etc.). It's great for keeping track of which partners are having issues, as I started my thread as I was unsure of the current status of booking NH awards.

Great idea. That would require the help of the mods to rename the threads so they all have the same format.

Sorry, after seeing so many threads and personally pasting a link in, I was the one who suggested a master re-title thread.

As to status of each, perhaps a wiki would be in order?

And IIRC, this was also suggested sometime is the past when we experienced another one of those waves of "Aeroplan doesn't have / can't book BR, TK, NH, TG etc" and my personal favourite the "phantom availability" threads for LH F.

Air China is quite hard to find. Use this post: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/othe...y-booking.html

When I looked for mine I had to try a few combinations of the lastname/firstname but it did work.

Edit: seems those links don't work. Try this one: http://www.travelsky.com/tsky/validate.jsp

Yeah I found the Chinese site for him. But the name is giving him trouble. How should the name be entered?

Same question. PNR does not work. Do you enter the AC eTicket number?

I don't think I used the PNR. If I recall I think I used the actual ac ticket number. As for name combination it was awhile ago so I cannot remember for sure the name combination. I tried a bunch and for some reason I think what sticks is that I had to use the backslash. LASTNAME/FIRSTNAME I don't have a middle name on my passport so this made the combinations a bit easier. hopefully it'll work for you!

edit: also not sure if you are using google chrome but you can auto translate the chinese characters.

He made it work. AC 014 ticket number, Last Name/First Name Mr works to pull up the record. Thank you very much for finding the link.

Some ANA space that shows on ANA's website and EF, but not Aeroplan, also isn't showing on United for what it's worth.

what a profound post from the ... wait, i had to go to the blog to look it up. what does he call himself? visionary? the Thinker? the FT copypasta'er?

this thread has more details than that post, but then, that would be true for virtually all his posts. :D
