Retirement looms. May be my last year of silly travel. Now can simply look forward to yearly erosion of my lifetime status and erosion of point value to the cache I have put away. Yes, I don't trust where this is all going.

I am sitting at 80k miles. 19k AQDs. Mostly P fares, except one transatlantic leg on upgraded latitude pass, and one round trip to the US in comfort, one leg not upgraded. We were supposed to go to Tuscany on holidays this week, which with a business trip early Dec. was going to get me over 100k, my wife over 50k. Alas, I hurt my knee, had surgery and could not travel this week. I ended up buying P fares for the Dec. trip to get more miles, and a trip to Europe we had planned over new year, we changed to return on Dec. 31. Getting me over 100k on the day, by about 100 miles. My wife won't hit 50k. Hopefully by the time of the Dec 20 I'll be allowed to drive...

I am am impressed by how well you have managed your AQM.
And good luck luck with the knee. Doesn’t sound like much fun.

We have a massive enterprise-wide contract with ACA so we do get reasonably good fares on most routes. Further, long-haul (which I do a lot of) is a better bang/$ typically than small jumps. If all air travel was priced what a ticket from Vancouver to Saskatoon or similar was (or worse, Vancouver to Prince George), then getting to some overseas locations would be twice as expensive or more.

our organization works closely with air canada and as a result i often travel on contract fares. sadly, said fares often map to non-earning L or T (X).
i've flown 78 segments this year-- mostly domestic, of which 36 counted towards AGD/AQS.
