This is how Aeroplan responds to that thread about some people being charged $7.40 and others being charged $7.50 us air pax tax on that LX ZRH-BOS flight.

I'm wondering though if it's a problem with Swiss? Because I can't seem to find the space on Expertflyer, UA or ANA (in fairness I can't find the star alliance tool on ANA anymore lol) for this Swiss flight. Again, it WAS there, now I just get an error.

Business, direct flight Oct 17-20. I had seen availability on Expertflyer and Aeroplan on 16-17-18. Now I just get errors on EF and no results from Swiss on AP.

BKK-ZRH LX 181

Expert Flyer Result Pic

Edit: I should say, while I'm looking for Business, I get the errors when including Y class as well. For testing's sake, I also tried ZRH-FCO & GVA both business and economy, Expertflyer didn't give me errors on this one, but it did say no availability on both routes, for Oct 18/19/20, which I find seriously hard to believe is accurate.

Not saying that this is the case here, but ExpertFlyer displays availability only available to M&M members.

Searching united.com (or lifemiles) would be more accurate, and Swiss is readily available there on your route and dates.

This is Aeroplan blocking the flights, most likely because AC told them to, suspiciously all carriers that disappeared have been no scamcharge ones where AC competes. CA/AV/CM/LX and even reports of UA - whats next? TK?

@rankourabu

LX just posted over in the Swiss Lurker thread that they are having a technical issue and that their IT team is working on it. Seems legit and not just an AE problem.

Thanks for the heads up from both of u guys.

Rank I tried searching it on UA but it didn't show. It DID show up on all 3 of my resources.

I'm hoping it comes back, cuz it would be my preferred flight

Still see lots of FCO-GVA/ZRH on LX on united.com
Good to see that this is temporary (although same was said with CA) - need a TATL next year.

For a while now ExpertFlyer has shown partner level award inventory for LX, same as for LH.

Looking for an example Feb.17 YUL-ZRH one ticket in business. UA shows space:

LifeMiles shows space:

ANA shows space:

Aeroplan - no LX. Scamcharge only:

Not bookable by phone either. Aeroplan now blocks all LX award space as well.

So it seems like AE is blocking almost all LX award inventory, and this "IT issue" has been going on for over a week now. Utterly ridiculous.

So we now have CA, AV, CM and LX fully blocked.

All suspiciously in markets where AC gets most scamcharges by pushing their own metal.

Bets on whats next?
TK? BR?

Curious - what would they tell you on the phone when you called? What would they say if you told them you can see rewards seats available on other tools?

Being pragmatic: is anyone suggesting this is now policy, or a temporary glitch?

A very suspicious glitch....
Considering how CA hasnt been dealt with in years, it seems more deliberate to eliminate non-yq partners where AC can make a cash grab (TATL/TPAC/South America)

I would not be surprised if they were blocking but never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence.
