LOL -- not laughing at your misfortune but it's good to know that I am not the only person who has done this! Fortunately, I was an SE at the time, so they were pretty good at fixing it for me without a penalty! -- catgirl
Sorry to burst your bubble, but that was a joke - Adam
Damn! And I thought I had someone to commiserate with. I typed in YYZ instead of YYC and didn't notice till a couple of days before the flight ... it ended well -- catgirl

Saturday morning hiking

I am planning to lead a hike before the 'official' 'do'. So far 3 of us are going, but I'm happy to show off our beautiful trails to as many as possible! We will go at the pace of the slowest person (possibly me!).

We will be hiking from Alyard farm, meeting there at 11am. If you need a ride, PM painintheuk. It will be a slow, relaxed pace, with snacks along the way!

We'll be done and back in plenty of time to check in and relax before the Do.

Please add your name below:
PainintheUK
catgirl (well ... maybe)
eigenvector

AND A BIG BIG THANKS TO LIGHTS_A_BLUR AND THE OTHERS WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN!!!

Is it too late to change to the venue to Lynn Lake and all of us join Adam Smith?

Does that count as a transoceanic flight?

Haha I was going to fly with you but the SFO-YYJ fare (which, for the record, is now dead) was way too good to pass up.

Yeah I know... The YYC-YYJ non stop was like $130R/T too but I booked into YVR Friday hoping you'd bite... sigh.

Turns out this girl I was best friends with in grade 6/7 has a bday party in YVR that Friday so all is not lost!

Finlayson is an option. The front side can be a bit exposed for those who aren't regular hikers and there's not much view in bad weather. Holmes and Jocelyn just further north are more accessible, though still a solid hike up, and have nice views as well. If it's very wet and we want something less hilly, then Goldstream across the highway has some great forest and waterfalls (with a view from the trestle if we get that far). I've also had a request for East Sooke park.

I'll tailor the hike to the group we get and figure it out depending on weather.

Thanks

Dr. PITUK

P.S. Like Nitehawk, I can get up and down in an hour as well, but my legs will be tired and this isn't meant to be that type of hike .

P.P.S. Hopefully we'll do more than an hour in any case! Just want to keep it open in case someone wants shorter.

Had my plans change a bit... Kid sister decided to move out to Whistler for the summer. She let me know that she'll be having me check two bags of her stuff since it's free for me on AC211 Fri May 5th LOL. It's been 4 years since I've checked a bag.

Also, instead of her flying with me on AC211, she ended up booking WS which leaves 5 minutes later than AC211 lol. Now I can't even guest her into MLL. AC was $30 cheaper too(Tango). Sigh. Now I need to rent a car, drive to Whistler with her to take her to her place than drive back to Vancouver to make it in time for a haircut/dinner.

I hope neither of our flights get delayed...

Last call for Party Favours!

I'm very excited to see everyone. We've finally got our tulips up here in YYJ, and the lilacs should be in full scented bloom by the time you get here.

I'm stoked that some of you are hiking. I may try to meet you depending on timing; please keep the conversation in the thread for us locals.

Wait, what? She booked WS even though AC was $30 cheaper? Is she blindly loyal to WS? Did she have a bad experience with AC and unlike every other person who says it, truly is never flying AC again?
