I figured Rouge would come to YOW at some point, but ugh. AC is going to have a hard time competing against WS in flights direct from YOW; a WS 737 is a lot better than an ACr 319. Unless I am getting a very cheap / points PE seat I would not fly on those A319s in economy for that distance. That's okay, I don't have an issue flying WS on these routes and have done it before. Maybe AC knows that hence the capacity downguage.

I too was dreading the day Rouge would come to Ottawa. I think the key to success on these seasonal routes is the frequency and arrival/departure time.

rouge 319 does not have a "PE seat".

Only J and Y. Or all Y, depending on which specific aircraft.

Really? You should share your insight and expertise wiht them! Wonder why AC (Rouge) has added destinations (VRA ,,, ) and frequencies (PUJ among others) ex YOW while WS has trimmed service considerably (TPA, FLL, ...)

Yeah. Capacity downgauge. Right. 2 less seats per flight but additional 4-5 flights/week. Few hundred additiional seats/wk
Actually an impressive addition of weekly seats to SUN exYOW on AC. The opposite of WS.
............ But, don't let these facts and reality curb your excellent insight and theory of YOW air service. You really know your stuff!

I was looking at this exact same flight last week, and it was un-Rouged. I guess the extension of the MAX grounding has taken a toll on even AC's premier domestic route.
It's interesting to note that the price on the noon flight, immediately preceding this Rouge flight has gone up since the Rouging occurred.
