A330-300 Fleet Overview

AC currently has two configurations of 333:
  • Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
  • The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
    • Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
    • Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

Would have been pretty pissed if I had - as others are expressing.
Based on how things are going this summer I suspect I’ll be happy if I get where I am going within an hour of the expected time. Fleet is going be an issue all summer.

I'm sitting onboard AC324 YYC-YUL right now, which is operated by a 789 today. Since I just flew AC321 YUL-YYC yesterday, which was operated by a 333 (with Signature Suite), the contrast in available space and storage is stark!

Still, a last minute swap to a Signature Suite 333 would be very welcome in place of C-GFAF operating AC89 YUL-BOG tonight. Got stuck on this bird because of this.

The Signature Suite is a lounge, not an onboard product

Haha true. I blame it on a few very long travel days frying my brain. Though a FA on yesterday's AC321 told me a new J product is coming that's more private / enclosed, so perhaps AC could call it a 'Signature Suite'?

Looks like my wish is coming true! Due to the mess at YUL, AC98 YUL-BOG is now being operated by C-GFUR, with C-GFAF now operating AC894 YUL-MXP.

But while the AC website / app show C-GFUR operating AC98, the seatmap both online and on airport agent screens is still showing the 1-1-1 C-GFAF layout.

Edit: The seatmap has now updated. Sadly, AC98 is further delayed, now threatening my BOG-LIM connection.

I hate you, FIN 931. Another missed upgrade in the coming days due to a plane swap.

Same thing happened to me last year from YYZ-VCE.

The gf had an original booking with a Lion.
Then it was swapped to an XM (931).
Then it was swapped to FIN 937 and she even got her waitlisted J upgrade at the gate.
Woot!

Which means the tweet has the wrong FIN, since 938 is C-GHLM, which has been with AC for its entire 22 years.

so experts...is there a chance my Sept flight to ZRH will be swapped out for one of these old SQ interior birds? especially in light of the YUL fire?

Anything can happen, but it is unlikely that they would swap in one of the SQ planes on a transatlantic route and even more unlikely that they would do so for a ZRH flight. They have been selling the J on these planes as PY on international flights and J on domestic flights. They aren't going to plan to fly a plane to ZRH without J.
