The old website is in the process of being "retired"
Leaving the below here for now for the sake of posterity and reference.
Most of the old website URLs now redirect to the new "beta" website.

Accessing the "old" website.
At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.
The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.
1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.
Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.
https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

Just looking at some random dates in relation to another thread and noticed that the timeout/click to continue button no longer works. Went into the console to remove it (no longer as easy as with the old site) and it's chock full of well... all the stuff you'd expect to see in a beta site.
Including a ton of (ajax I imagine) post requests to https://beta.aircanada.com/TealeafTarget.php
So it looks like their backend is PHP. Wow. TealeafTarget, well a quick search indicates it might be something IBM does.
Oh, and they have this: console.log("I tjssj").
This is the stuff I'd remove before going outside my local environment. Let alone into Live.
I imagine the eUpgrade site will be "upgraded" soon. At which point, evidence indicates one will no longer be able to request upgrades.

Offer Lise early retirement and replace her IT management team. Work on getting the old site fully functional (e.g. proper multi-city bookings and more) and scrap the development of the new site!

Just re-read the last 6 pages of this thread. Great comedic talent here. Great suggestions as well.
Meanwhile, over at AC, it seems they launch the website Prematurely, for the SECOND time.
You'd think they should have ran the beta of the beta by the team here at AC FT Central, you know, to work the bugs out.
Oh never mind.

The UX doesn't bother me. The functionality doesn't seem much different from before. What's all the noise here?

There's nothing wrong with Lise. It's all the people below her that suck, or perhaps IBM (I guess the Toronto/Markham office? Need to keep the hair that clogs the brain drain busy...) I don't think any CIO/CTO would have the balls to pull the plug on that.

“The management question, therefore, is not whether to build a pilot system and throw it away. You will do that. The only question is whether to plan in advance to build a throwaway, or to promise to deliver the throwaway to customers.”
